Center Console Lid Stuck in Closed Position - C200 Saloon 2016
Dear All
Really in need of your help from the experts here.
My C200 Saloon 2016 has an issue; the center console lid is stuck in the closed position. I am afraid that I had a mobile phone charging cable with a USB adapter in the battery charger slot, while closing the lid accidentally. Is there any tips/ tricks to open the lid in this situation? What would be your advice to sort this out?

This is the opposite of what you are experiencing but I am hoping that by removing the trim piece covering the cover, you can access the pin and remove the lid that way by pushing through the holes in between allowing whatever that is jamming the lid to move away.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like a good idea. However I couldn't understand how to remove the trim piece of the cover.
Also, as said the underneath the lid seems to be tightly jammed against the charger cable + USB adapter. So not sure pushing through the holes can actually help to move this away.

I was hoping the cable is one of the thinner ones and using something to push it would help guide it away from the hinge. If that doesn't work, perhaps removing the whole centre console might work.
I am hoping there is more access beneath the centre console panel that you can wiggle things around to remove the cable or at least tuck it to the side enough to let the lid push down and open.
I found this video on how to remove the centre console, hopefully it works out for you. Keep me posted.

Alright. Thanks and will get you posted here .
Before actually removing the console panel (which I never tried before), can someone please confirm that there is some access beneath the centre console panel to remove the stuck charger?

If the video doesn't give you a good view of the centre console, you could consider watching a different video and hopefully it shows a good view of it when it is being disassembled.

Fixed this finally
I was able to to open the center console to have a view underneath, which helped to locate the issue (charger cable blocking the way) through the narrow slot behind as attached. However couldn't reach inside through this slot as it's too narrow and I don't have proper tools for this. Then decided to lift one side of the lid from outside slightly to get hold of the cable somehow. This did some magic and the lid just opened without breaking anything. Need not have to touch the cable at all
Thanks a lot for your support!

Hey AzTpMerc
Looks like I'm trying to do the same thing here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ml#post8540912. Can you specifically explain what do mean by the magic you did there to get the lid out? Where exactly was that cable blocking the lid from opening. I think my adapter is so big that it's actually blocking the lid from opening. But I can use some guidance on how actually you figured where the blocking is going on from the slit in the picture.
