Replaced original steering wheel with a Glc and now vibration does not work.

Hello. I originally had a round steering wheel (shown in the first photo) with vibration and heating and changed it to a Amg flat bottom from a Glc with vibration only (shown in the second photo). Problem is now the vibration is not working, any knowledge to how do i deal and fix it? I understand i will never have heating with that steering wheel again i don't mind it but vibration should work right? Please help.

Original steering wheel.

Replacement Glc steering wheel.

I am sorry i can't help but i am curious why did you do the swap i really can't see much difference. Since this Glc steering wheel is not working for you why dont you condider an amg steering wheel many guys are doing the swap including myself. I dont have heating or vibration i frankly dont care about both.

What do you mean by ‘vibration does not work’? Are you referring to the lane departure warning feedback?

Curious as well, other than that, looks like the new one swapped in is the amg line one from pre-facelift models which based on the original wheel, OP has a pre-facelift.

That sounds like what OP is talking about, I wonder if the motor needs to be installed in the steering wheel too. As in the steering wheel don't come with it if the vehicle it was originally from wasn't option those driver assist features? Unless the motor is present but it is just coding.

Thank you for your reply, i did the swap because the flap bottom looks more sporty for me and i wanted to refresh my experience a little bit.

exactly it’s the prefacelift model, i had the option to swap it for a facelift one but i wanted to stay “original” just have the flat bottom steering wheel

Motor is present. The Glc that the wheel came from had vibro, it’s just not working on my car now. “My car has vibro and heating option” so it’s compatible
