First time poster here, awesome forums!

Last July 2021 I ordered a new Mercedes C class (W206). I'm living in the Netherlands.

Order was originally supposed to be done late September, but got moved to early October. From there it was postponed till mid-October, after which it became late October. My dealer (who can track the order) reported many times over (with screenshots) that the car was still in South Africa. Once we approved late October (October 27 to be exact) there was movement, it was in the port of Bremen. Sources tell me (Mercedes Benz Netherlands and my dealer) that they're 80% sure that the car is completely done and ready now. I was a bit nervous about that, since there is a Mercedes C class factory based in Bremen as well. It did not show on the ''Order detail report'' that it needed to go to the Bremen factory, but better safe than sorry. The delays were all part of the ''chip shortage'' which I totally understand.

I expected my car to be delivered early November, as the order detail report showed that, but it got pushed again till mid November.

Today my dealer sent me a new screenshot of the ''order detail report'' saying it should arrive between November 26, 2021 - December 3, 2021 but it says the text (INVALID) behind the order date. No one seems to be able to tell me more about how long it will actually take now, since the car is supposedly done and ready. I'm afraid it will get pushed again. The reason why I'm ''afraid'' is not just because I want to have the new car, but also because I currently own a Mercedes S class, which is up for maintenance soon (which I obviously don't want to do). Additionally, I don't know what the hold up would be since the chances are high (80%) that the car is done, so there shouldn't be an ''excuse'' with regards to the chipping shortage.

I've contacted my dealer who has no clue and Mercedes Benz Netherlands, who have no clue. I also called the transport company that is responsible for it (since the company details are listed on the order detail report) - but they can't share details with end customers.

I'm curious to find out if there are any people who can tell me what this ''INVALID'' text exactly means or when this happened to you how long it actually took to get the car in your possession eventually.

Another thing I don't understand from the order detail report is the distribution method now lists a number ''2'', previously it was blank.

Did you get any news since posting?

My W206, ordered back in May 2021, has been "in production" for 3 weeks now (since 22 oct). Can anyone tell me how long they had to wait between the "production" status to the actual delivery, if anyone has already received the car?

I live in Belgium.

 

I also ordered in late May 2021, the car left the production facilities in East London South Africa almost ready at the 10th of September. Some vital electronic components are still missing (e.g: driver's seat height adjustment, I didn't really pay much attention to the rest), thereby delaying delivery for a couple of months.
The online status show the car blocked between November 3 and December 23. The latest info from the dealer is that delivery will take place until June 2022 at the latest. Bare in mind that it takes approximately 90 days from shipment to delivery in Southern Europe. I live in Athens, Greece. Let's be patient

 

Yeah OK, thank you. Reading through the other posts it seems no one has yet received the W206, so yup, wait&see. Mine is scheduled for end of Feb at the latest.

 

Welp, got pushed back to March .

 

Right now the computer ship shortage is the worst possible nightmare scenario. I think patience is a virtue right now. I don't think anyone, including MB knows when this shortage will ease.

 

Is there a website where you can follow your order or do you contact your dealership? (Belgium as well)
I ordered my car in August (although, the lease company put in the orders in bulk in September) and we got an expected delivery for April. A colleague who ordered base configuration received an e-mail this morning stating that her car was delivered to the dealership.

 

Good to know some cars are delivered. I contacted the dealership several times, each time the date is pushed back - currently April 2022 for an order from May 2021 (c220d business line).

 

Got an e-mail last week that my car has arrived at the dealership, 2 months earlier than expected.

Hello I ordered mine 16/09/2021 and the dealer told me that I ll got it by end of April 2022 but with semiconductor shortage and the war in Ukrainian I don’t know now when I ll finally get it.pettakos πατρίδα!!!

 

Just talked to my dealer and I have the dreaded B5C code now as well.

Ordered my GLB35 in October and it was allegedly built at the beginning of March
