Surprisingly missing features.

  1. Auto lock. There is auto lock when you are inside the car but none after you are out of the car. It's mind-boggling. Now I need to develop a habit to not forget to lock my car. Why is it not there? I will receive notification that my car left unlocked on my smartphone but it will not lock itself. Why MB have decided to not do such basic and simple feature is beyond my understanding.
  2. Ability to set seat and steering wheel positions for easy exit. Easy exit is kind of useless without ability to set your own easy exit positions. My previously owned Caddy has dedicated memory button to store easy exit positions. There are 3 memory buttons. Why to not have third one to be used to set easy exit? Again, don't understand what MB guys were thinking. It's so obvious IMHO.

Not crazy about auto locking. Had it on a Corvette and hated it. I'm perfectly capable of locking my own car.
Never needed an easy exit feature, but there is nothing stopping you from using the 3rd memory button for it.

Surely they are not deal breakers but still require extra effort meaning less convenience. And could be tuned off for those who don't need/like them like in other cars.

I wouldn't consider them deal breakers or makers. What they require though is extra engineering, manufacturing and microchips that are already in short supply. C Class doesn't have the kick to open trunk feature because of microchip shortages.

Chips are there already. If a car can send me notification that it was left unlocked then it has everything needed to detect this scenario (doors are closed, key is not inside and some time has passed in this condition) and can lock itself instead of sending me notification. It's software matter but hardware. May be MB will add it.

It's never been a Mercedes feature. Nor any other German car that I can think of.

BMW has had this for a quite a while. I think it’s often a disappointment when BMW people get other cars that they don’t have this feature. But BMW is the only one I know if that does this widespread.
