2023 C300 Apple CarPlay disconnects
Occasionally, the CarPlay app drops out with no apparent issue. About half of the time, it will re-establish communication with the phone and restart. In all cases, the car is driving, and has been in use for more than 15 minutes. The car and the iPhone have updated software. The phone is sitting in the console and not being accessed. IS this happening to anyone else????? Any suggestions?

Yes - current IOS (17.3) and MBUX. This started about 5 months ago on previous IOS versions. Thanks for your thoughts

Having the same problem with my 2024 (MBUX and iOS are current). More frustrating is 2 out of 5 times when it won't even connect to CarPlay, wireless or plugged in. I either get a message about no devies set up, even though it shows the phone name and connections and is paired as bluetooth, or a message that CarPlay could not connect and it is now using Bluetooth. 2017 E and 202 GLC all worked flawless as with Bluetooth so if it's possible I may have to disable CarPlay.

Exact experience I was having with two C300 and an EQS 450+ loaner. The latter was recently at the beginning of the year. I thought it was because the loaners don't get OTA updates and still ran whatever software came from the factory, but looks like it's an ongoing issue. MBUX 2.0 continuous to be a POS. The loaner experiences I've had over the last year or so made me not want a current Mercedes or AMG. In comparison, COMAND NTG 5.5 in my '19 C63 has never had CarPlay issues with any iOS version over the last 5 years.

I'm experiencing the same thing in my 2022 C300 sedan. This generally only happens on longer drives on the freeway and not around town. I've also noticed that it seems to happen at the same locations on the freeway too. Sort of wondered if maybe there's some sort interference in those locations that might be causing it.

I only experience issues with CarPlay when I leave the car for 5-10 minutes for quick errands like post office or bank visits. Once I restart my car 50% of the times it’s impossible to reconnect to CarPlay.

The dealer knows of no issues. Ive been experimenting and it is the same issue after updating IOS, reconnecting the phone, etc. May happen 10 times in 30 min or not at all. No consistency. I’m of the belief that it is specific to the car. Hope MB digs into this!

Yes, it's a specific issue with MBUX 2.0. I have no issues with CarPlay in my 2019 with COMAND as said, and last year I drove a BMW 330i for a long weekend using CarPlay the entire time w/o any issues. However, VW and Audi also have issues related to wireless CarPlay. I drove several VWs and Audis over the last couple of years, and each one had stability issues with wireless CarPlay, but wired CarPlay was stable. My own car doesn't support wireless CarPlay, so it's always wired. In my experience wireless CarPlay is flaky, except in the BMW where it worked flawlessly. It's clearly bugs in these other Infotainment systems.
