The Worst Software I’ve Ever Used in a Car
Whoever creates MBUX needs to be fired and there’s no other way to say it. Every time I remote start my car, CarPlay just flat out refuses to connect anymore and will not connect until I completely turn off the car, let the screen shut off, and turn it back on.
Genius! I’m so glad they engineered such a perfect system that is in no way frustrating at all. I love not being able to listen to my music or make calls.
This is a luxury brand? Kia and Hyundai have vastly better software. I should have bought a Genesis - they’re probably more reliable anyways.

my guess is someone who thinks safety thought it was a good idea so someone walking by an empty car could not connect and hack away.

HDA2 in my 2021 GV80 was awesome though. There's a recent thread here where a guy was AMAZED by the INCREDIBLE emergency braking in his Mercedes. Compared to the emergency steering in my Genesis it really isn't that impressive. It'll swerve around if it can't stop in time. Their service though... I was promised a lot like concierge and loaners and ended up having to drive across town to a different dealer (because Humble Hyundai wouldn't service the car they sold me) and wait two hours just to have them botched the first oil change which leaked all over my garage floor... and this was a few weeks after I had surgery where they gutted me like a deer... but anywho. That's why I'll never buy another one of those! I guess it might be a matter of perspective but in comparison Mercedes dealers seem pretty decent to me.

I traded it for my Mercedes EQE 500 SUV which was a creaky rattle bucket so I traded that for a Maserati Folgore which is laggy. FWIW though, I should have kept my brand new $15,000 Hyundai Accent with direct injection motor and six speed manual transmission. The whole car cost less than the depreciation just driving off the lot in one of those other vehciles. Plus I could have driven it like I stole it and only paid for liability insurance.

If you want a better styling vehicle, get the CX-50 hybrid, it has the same Toyota powertrain, no waiting list, assembled in USA. Looks better, of course looks is subjective.
