Some preliminary figures (in KM/H , sorry i dont do MPH) from Motorsport
0-100km/h: 3.8s
0-160km/h: 7.7s
0-200km/h: 11.6s (quicker than panamera Turbo S to 200)
0-250km/h: 18.8s
CLS63 PP (Autobild sportcars)
0-100km/h: 4.1s
0-160km/h: 8.4s
0-200km/h: 12.5s
Whats most impressive is the 62.5mph-125mph time (similar to your US 60-130)
F10 M5 : 7.8s
CLS63 PP: 8.4s
So overall may be slightly quicker. We'll see how the M5 transmission handles tuning,
from what i gather in the forum CLS's 7-speed slasher is doing ok with 650+HP

a car that gets very poor gas mileage.
Couldn't find anything on the SLS, but this article states that the limiter was raised with CLS63 PP cars:
http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2011/...enz-cls63-amg/
Previous generation CLS63, with 030 package, raises the limiter to 300kph as well.
Anyway, I think we need to ask Jeremy if his tune will also include a delimiter.

I think the Euro version has a two-step PP options. One for the increase in HP and the other one with the delimiter option to 300km.
Hope this helps!

our spec is always locked @ 250km although PP power is the same. ( my boost is 18 PSI, i checked using OBD2 scanner)
Euro pec is different
PP: locked @ 285km
PP + AMG driving locked @ 300km.

Based on tests of the mags (i know i know) we wont be walking the F10- it will be driver's race for sure especially with the lighter E63. The underrated part comes with the dynos we have been seeing.

Im sure we will see videos of either an E or a CLS against the M5 immediately after it's released. Hopefully on the Texas mile or equivalent.

A dual clutch transmission eliminates the torque converter as used in conventional automatic transmissions. Instead, dual clutch transmissions that are currently on the market primarily use two oil-bathed wet multi-plate clutches, similar to the clutches used in most motorcycles, though dry clutch versions are also available. In DCTs where the two clutches are arranged concentrically, the larger outer clutch drives the odd numbered gears, whilst the smaller inner clutch drives the even numbered gears. Shifts can be accomplished without interrupting torque distribution to the driven roadwheels, by applying the engine's torque to one clutch at the same time as it is being disconnected from the other clutch. Since alternate gear ratios can pre-select an odd gear on one gear shaft whilst the vehicle is being driven in an even gear, (and vice versa), DCTs are able to shift more quickly than other cars equipped with single-clutch automated-manual transmissions (AMTs), a.k.a. single-clutch semi-automatics. Also, with a DCT, shifts can be made more smoothly than with a conventional Automatic Transmission, making a DCT more suitable for conventional road cars.

Mercedes-AMG developed the 7-speed MCT "Multi Clutch Technology" planetary semi-automatic transmission.
The MCT transmission is essentially the 7G-Tronic automatic transmission without a torque converter. Instead of a torque converter, it uses a compact wet startup clutch to launch the car from a stop, and also supports computer-controlled double declutching. The MCT (Multi-Clutch Technology) acronym refers to a planetary (automatic) transmission’s multiple clutches and bands for each gear. The MCT is fitted with four drive modes: “C” (Comfort), “S” (Sport), “S+” (Sport plus) and “M” (Manual) and boasts 100 millisecond shifts in "M" mode. MCT-equipped cars are also fitted with the new AMG DRIVE UNIT with innovative Race Start function. The AMG DRIVE UNIT is the central control unit for the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission and all driving dynamics functions. The driver can change gears either using the selector lever, or by nudging the steering-wheel shift paddles. The new Race start Function is a launch control system which enables the driver to call on maximum acceleration, while ensuring optimum traction of the driven wheels.

ok , so they both eliminate tq, and use wet clutches, and both shift hella fast
i dont know alot about trannys, so ill do some more research....
funny i was driving my c320, with its automanu 5g transmission, whatever they call it, and i like how u can hold the lever down and it wiill select the lowest best gear, where as, in some brands cars, even today, (golf gti 2011), u have to flick it down each time and pic the best gear your self, even in auto mode

I call BS on the 0-200 time for the m5. Guys. its a smaller displacement engine, with smaller turbos, ( though more stock boost @ 22psi), way less torque, and roughly same weight. no way it's that much faster.
Can't wait to see what bs gustov starts fabricating...

Its a better comparison when coming from the same source. Even better when they do them together.
"BMW has officially announced 4.4 seconds as the new M5′s 0 to 60 mph acceleration time. But American magazine Car&Driver has arrived at a different number. Now, you would expect the number the independent testers achieved to be higher than what the huge, faithless car maker claims. But it isn’t! Staggeringly, the time is much quicker than the official performance figure BMW has announced.
C&D tested the M5 the other day and recorded a 0 to 60 time of 3.7 seconds. They also posted a quarter mile time of 12.0 seconds at 122mph.
We know BMW likes to underrate performance of its cars. But underrating 3.7 seconds is 4 seconds, not 4.4. That is a big difference. Why would BMW do such a thing? Is there a chance C&D equipments are rubbish?! They’ve also measured CLS63 AMG’s acceleration at 3.8 seconds, while it should be 4.4 seconds.
http://www.motorward.com/2011/10/201...what-bmw-says/
At 4288 lb. the new M5 may be slightly heavier than its 4035-lb. predecessor
http://www.roadandtrack.com/auto-new...-m5-technology
BMW claims it runs from 0-to-62 mph in 4.4 seconds and boasts a top speed of 190 mph when equipped with the Europe-only M Driver’s Package (U.S. M5s will be electronically limited to 155 mph)
http://www.roadandtrack.com/tests/drives/2013-bmw-m5
Another bias example is top speed quoting manufacturers times and than boasting about BMW's 0-60 in the final sentence.
"UPDATE 10/27/2011: BMW spent a great deal of time bragging about their new M5, only to disappoint with an announced 0-60 mph sprint time of 4.4 seconds. Not too shabby in comparison to other high performance sports cars out there, but hell, the new Audi S8 has a reported time of 4.2 seconds and is considerably larger than the M5. Lucky for BMW, Car And Driver has expert drivers that were able to drive the new sports sedan the way it was meant to be driven. With the help of these drivers, the BMW M5 has been able to clock a 0-60 mph sprint in 3.7 seconds. Eat that, BMW!
Now they can truly say that their sports sedan is better than the Mercedes E63 AMG which sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds"
http://www.topspeed.com/cars/bmw/201...-ar100010.html
The event after that was designed to highlight the strengths of the CLS 63 AMG and the C 63 AMG, literally. It was all-out drag-racing, two cars at a time, with both cars fitted with the optional “Performance Package” that boosts power. We had to floor it along a set distance, and then brake as hard as possible to stop within a marked box. It’s always nice to stretch the legs on such big engines. But despite the C 63 and the CLS 63 hinting at having the same engine, the former is powered by the excellent 457 hp 6.2-litre V8 (boosted to 487 hp with the Performance pack), while the latter gets the new 525 hp 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 (boosted to 557 hp here). So naturally, the CLS 63 was faster, though not by a whole lot.

It's interesting that the M5 in the Autozietung article scanned above was at 12.3, and the E55 was at 12.7. At least here, the gap doesn't seem to be quite so daunting...
This is more in line with the only US tests we have for both cars, here are the results from the magazine, Car & Driver testing the CLS63 and M5:
M5:
Zero to 60 mph: 3.7 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 8.3 sec
Zero to 150 mph: 18.3 sec
Rolling Start, 5–60 mph: 4.6 sec
¼-mile: 12.0 sec @ 122 mph
CLS55:
Zero to 60 mph: 3.8 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 8.5 sec
Zero to 150 mph: 19.5 sec
Street start, 5–60 mph: 4.4 sec
Top gear, 30–50 mph: 2.4 sec
Top gear, 50–70 mph: 2.8 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.0 sec @ 122 mph
Pretty tight, but M car seems to have an edge up above 100, albeit a much-reduced edge over previous version. And if it can pull comparable lap times to the E55, again the advantage has shrunk markedly....interesting.
