Fire extinguisher strapped to front seat rail... Who has what?
So now I have an extinguisher in the trunk, but wanting something decent that will strap to the front seat rail and fit without rattling. The last GD thing a w204 with stiff suspension needs is another rattle. 🤣

I don't have one, but it could be a good idea to have one handy. Having an extinguiser could also be used in other fire instances on other vehicles you may come across when driving, if you get the thing going b4 the flames get too big. My past MB's had one on the seat front rail, but haven't checked to see if this is possible on the W204 and C63.

I did it to mine years ago, forgot the part numbers. You could choose which front seat you wanted it mounted to (brackets are different for each seat) I chose to mount it to the passenger seat (RHD car)
I can remember though what ever you do don’t buy the fire extinguisher from Mercedes they charge 3 times the price VW and Porsche do for the exact same extinguisher.

I went with a couple of "Element Fire Extinguishers" on magnetic mounts. Didn't like the idea of a big metal fire extinguisher being loose during a street wreck, and didn't want to put a custom mount yet.
If you don't mind a hard mount, I'd go ahead with a normal extinguisher within reach of the driver.

I needed this also, and I designed a mount and 3D printed it to fit my 2019 C63 S. I rubber coated the contact surfaces, and use velcro straps to attach it to that front bar under the seat. It moves with the seat, and doesn't rattle at all. It's easy to reach if needed. Just pull on two little flaps and it's out. I made it to fit the Auto/Marine fire extinguisher from Kidde, readily available at many stores.
It's a little awkward to install due to the location, but it is easy to access if needed.
If anyone is interested, I can share the design for free, or if you want to buy one I can print you one in whatever color you want.
The aluminum bar used in the images below is not the same as the seat rail, so the fit is not perfect. The mount does fit the seat rail exactly.

I liked my setup when I strapped it to the passenger seat. Clean.

Right, $300 for that? Definitely, but over $700 before ancillaries sounds too damn much like almost a grand for an extenguisher.
I'm waiting on SRG to get back from vacay so I can pay for an oil cooler, surely there's much cheaper mounts that will work. I'm sold on the single mechanism holding the extenguisher itself though. I can only imagine a bit of panicking sets in when your car catches on fire.

Sounds like an opportunity to put them out of business at a better price, guess not much of a market for reproducing that OEM holder though anymore.

Yeah absolutely not worth $700.
And I tried to source the OEM mount and extinguisher at first Rob. But it was a baby extinguisher unlikely to put out anything of consequence.

They have 1 extenguisher that's $300 by itself and the mount I first priced out is $250. Luckily, they make 2 quick release models and the other is $80.
