cls 63 shooting brake vs rs6 estate

I saw this yesterday. I really don't like how the Shooting brake looks, but I'd pick it over the RS6. It seems like the better driver's car, and I'd love to see a rematch once the CLS 63 4-matic comes out. I'd love to see a RS7 (my favorite in the Audi lineup) vs. the CLS63 S model 4-matic

Too bad the CLS did not have the PP package as I think it would have been even at 1/4.
I can't wait for a comparo with RS7 and CLS 4matic. On the other hand, it may tempt me to trade up.
Thanks for sharing.

Bottomline, AMG needs to step up and put DCT's in their regular fleet of cars. The MCT is long in the tooth and so is waiting for the DCT to arrive. Its a game changer no doubt.

He says it does, but if you look at the videos of the dragrace it's missing the red brake calipers. It's also missing the PP steering wheel with the alcantara inserts. This would be the 525hp version then.

I dont think the shooting brake comes with an option for the higher hp, it just comes in that hp number (557) as a std number thus no need for the painted calipers in the PP kit or the other items??

"And that was nice enough, but our holy grail came in the guise of the thoroughly distinctive 528-horsepower bi-turbo CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake."
"And rather than calling the hotter performance option either the Performance Pack or Driver's Package, this is called a classier Edition 1 on the CLS Shooting Brake in all markets. (Except in the United Kingdom, where it will go by Performance Pack. Go and figure.) As with the E63 wagon, this takes power to 550 hp, torque to 590 lb-ft., and acceleration to 60 mph gets one tenth of a second quicker."

That's the 2014 which all got a power bump. The prior model year did not.

Interesting, so I wonder why he would say 550hp- he usually doesnt misquote and when he combined their hp for the drag race he stated the cars had over 1100 combined which could not happen if it had the "528 hp"

Simple error? He said he's been driving it for a while but wasn't his. Maybe he just forgot or someone told him wrong? Since this is an older model I wonder if it has the non-upgraded intercooling system as well that shares IC coolant with the engine coolant.

MCT has a new software update that makes the car shift better and faster and more joy in driving, from some testing it showed more than 2 cars length by just updating MCT TCU, mostly maybe like the SL63 shifting or even better.

I believe I heard the gear ratios for the SL are different than other vehicles with the MCT, do you know if the update applies to all versions of the transmission? I would assume yes but interested for more facts on this. Any service bulletins or info specific to the update so I can explain it to my dealer like a 5 year old?

the audi doesnt have a dct, it has a Zed EFf.... so i think the 4wd traction aspect is what kept the auooodi ahead.

TCU update for every car, E/CLS/S/CL, but we just went to the dealer after hearing about it from some guys and SA knows about it and they are doing it.
