AMG door pins, I installed myself. The OEM plastic ones are just wrong on this car!
Compared to my CLS55 with Renntech Performance Package 5, it has less horsepower and particularly torque, but from a stop or slow roll the 4MATIC definitely delivers it more efficiently to the ground resulting in better 0-60 times. But acceleration from higher speed is not as strong as CLS55 with its higher torque and lower weight. That said, the CLS63S is definitely fast enough and I don't anticipate doing any expensive, potentially warranty-voiding engine/ECU modifications this time around; that said, the Rennech work on my CLS55 has been flawless, other than replacing the supercharger belt a couple times there have been absolutely zero issues.
I wish the AMG forged wheels were 20" but I like them enough to probably keep them. The car ride height is borderline, since they are not too expensive I may get the H&R springs installed up front and adjustable links in the rear to drop it only ~ 0.75". The ride is definitely firmer with the springs compared to air suspension, and don't want to make it any harsher with the KW kit. My CLS55 is lowered more aggressively, which makes for a rather busy (although different feeling) ride too.
The exhaust note of the CLS63P is just awesome, particularly for a turbocharged car. It sounds business!
Interior is very nice although I will really miss the piano black and porcelain leather from the Designo Graphite CLS55 - it was just an awesome combination. I anticipate ordering a S-Coupe 63 in 2-3 years and will be doing the piano black with white leather again.
As for the 218 versus 219 styling... there are features of both I prefer. I much prefer the front end of the 218, but with darker paints I still like the more graceful curves of the 219. I think with lighter paints like white, the more muscular rear quarters of the 63 look better. I did not particularly like the 63 rear lights and trapezoidal exhaust, but they are starting to grow on me. Both are fabulous looking cars!
I'll get some more photos this weekend. Here is a quickie from the iPhone
I will be listing the CLS55 for sale here shortly btw, in case anyone might be interested. Despite being a 2006 model it is surprising how little has changed!

and anyone who has a tough time with your 2006 CLS55 will need to understand thats the only year it came out
Yes the CLS55 was only available as a 2006 model. And I much preferred it to the supercharged 5.4L V8 to the N/A 6.2L V8 that followed it in MY2007, particularly given the power gains that could be achieved with modification.

I'm sure a relatively inexpensive ECU flash would unlock further potential for acceleration at speed. It is already scary fast from a stop or roll with the 4MATIC, thought I was going to pass out first time I did the race start... butt dyno and lightheadedness tell me low 3 sec range 0-60mph. But it doesn't pull quite as hard from 70mph as the CLS55.

I have not modded mine except for changing out the front side yellow reflector and glass tint, and don't plan to, I don't track the car and so there's no place to use the stock power let alone that from a mod, it's already a scary fast car, I need to try the race mode somewhere on a back road

For the rear, you need to take out the 2 screw of the door handles and then pop out the portion of the door panel (top right) where the pin resides enough to put your hand behind the panel and pull the mechanism out. Pop out the OEM pin and pop the new ones in.
Check the link below as a guide. You do not need to pull out the door panel entirely like he did. (I am the friend he refers to on the thread that bought him the pins
). We did the install of the rear pins on mine. It is intimidating at first but the video shows you how to pull the door panel.https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...way-video.html
How easy is it to change the door pins? I've been thinking to change it but never get a chance to. Appreciate it if you don't mind sharing some instructions

Stopped by another dealer on the way home and picked up the two front pins. They just screw on and off. I need to apply a little loctite, if they are screwed all the down they are sunk when retracted. I unscrewed them a bit to fit flush but now they are a little loose.
Anyway it is easy to do. If you're not in a hurry just buy a set of 4 off Ebay and save some money.

Loving the car. Getting the H&R springs and adjustable rear links to lower it a little, probably will need camber bolts too. And so it begins

I had previously looked into a KW Coilover kit but was informed these do not fit the 2014 4MATIC cars, which apparently have larger diameter shocks up front.

i wonder if its possible to use stock front springs with the kw sleeves to adjust height, rather than use there springs....
