My New 14' CLS63-S

With my wife due in a few weeks now we had to find a replacement of her SLK55. I was leaning towards a 12'/13' CLS63 or 12'/13' E63, as their prices have dropped enough to make me comfortable with the purchase. A while back I looked into a new 14' CLS63 and they refused to budge on the $122,000 asking price, stating they cannot keep them in stock and command full price, No thanks. Well, the other day I came across a 14' CLS63-S in my area with a asking price of $103k. I gave them a ring and bottom dollar and the salesman worked the numbers and said lets do it. They even gave me more money that I expected on the trade in.

Performance:
So far, the weather has been less than stellar here in S. FL, but I've been able to open her up a little and I'm blown away by the linear power delivery. My CBS seems to dump power like a drunken hooligan in a bar fight. The CLS is more akin to a highly skilled prize fighter. Both awesome, but very different characteristics.

I do plan on tuning her and possibly adding down pipes, but am waiting until the tunes have been perfected on the 4-matics. Vis-a-vis torque limitations. Also, CF goodies will be a must.

Aslo, I have an extra set of black CBS wheels laying around and was thinking of throwing them on the CLS to see how they would look, do you guys think the fitment would be okay?

Dealer Footnote: my salesman (Tod Foster) is new to this dealership, Merc of Coconut Creek (30 yrs in NY) and is very motivated to make some sales, so if interested, give him a ring. He was very funny, candid and straight forward, which is refreshing. Now here is the one crappy Iphone pic I have.

Congrats on the car ---- I have a CBS as well and had a CLS63TT (2012) and agree with the raw vs linear comments. Of course I didnt have the AWD but under a roll the feel would be the same.

As for the BS wheels on the car; They might look ok but they wont fit right as the rear offset is way too high and the wheel is only a 9.5 and you would want an 11 to fill in the gaps.

That's what I was afraid of. I guess I will have to convince the wife for aftermarkets I promised her I would go 6 months before any mods, not...strong...enough

Congrats on the new ride. I just took delivery of a 2014 CLS63-S myself and love it. The CLS platform is mature now and this car is incredibly fast, while feeling very solid and refined - it drives like a dream.

Sounds like you got a great deal. I was able to negotiate about 6% off MSRP but that was on a pretty loaded vehicle with a ~ $122k sticker.

Awesome deal and welcome to the CLS club.
I still love your CBS but I am not sure I could handle the fact that my wife would drive a car that puts to shame the car I am driving in a straight line especially after you tune it

I wish I knew, they are pretty dark. The former owner was some young trust fund kid (no offense to trust fund kids) who flips cars every 2-3 months. He traded this in for a 2014 S550 and already has an S63 on order They said he's their best customer, lol.

Congrats on the new ride. Looks great.

Tint looks right around 20%. Definitely darker than 35%.
