Brake Job?

Really looking for cheaper brake options for my w218 cls63 i heard some people mentioning using e55 one piece rotors on the front? Does anyone know if this is possible on w218? I have the standard iron amg rotors

It seems the front rotor are most expensive can anybody recommend some cheap alternatives for front rotors?

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
If you still would like to use 2-pieces, go for Girodisc or RB for cheaper replacement of just the ring in the future.

Yeah, 1-piece Rotors from "W216 Cl500/W219 Cls55/W211 E55/W221 S500/R230 SL55" should fit perfectly..

So just to clarify, we can do 1 piece rotors on our w218 cls63amg from the w211 e55 amg? and use current pads and run perfectly safe and not lose too much brake performance?

Thank you very much!

Yes,you can go with 1-piece Rotor from W211 E55 & use your current pads,

it's safe for sure & will lose that much brake performance,,

just prefer to get an OEM 1-piece Rotors..

Why they won't fit..?,

of course, 2-piece is more reliable than 1-piece & less heat range with more age for Rotor & pads,

but honestly; my friend got "09 W211 E63" with 2-piece Rotors,

he switch them with 1-piece Rotors since almost a year, without any issues..!,,

if anyone here tried that, pls. chime in, definitely will help us..

late response but i've done it and it works 100% he was right
I dont have part number but ive been using these for daily driving, i can say the braking isnt as good of course but its really not a huge difference and honestly with the cost of brakes these are way better for normal driving if I wanted to go super ham I would throw the 2 piece on

I am thinking about going this route as well but when i was researching, I read that the W211 1 piece front rotors are "crap" as they retain too much heat and are prone to cracking around the drilled holes. Is this true or is there a aftermarket W211 1 piece rotor that is better than the OEM? Or just go with OEM?

Girodiscs are going to be your best bet. Using some other rotor is not a good idea if you can't afford proper maintenance you probably shouldn't own an AMG Stay safe dont jeopardize your safety for a couple hundred bucks

on the Girodisc website they do not have an offering for 2012 CLS63, they have 2005-2006 and then 2007-2011. Do you know which discs fit a 2012 W218 CLS63? Would they be the same discs as the E63 2010 - 2014?

I tried emailing them about this but they never responded. Is their website still in operation & safe to order from?

Thanks!

Thanks for the referral & link.
http://www.racingbrake.com/RB-Two-pi.../mb-irk-21.htm

We are shipping this front and rear combo kit regularly (In stock).

When it comes to rear rotors, not just look at the weight saving, make sure these rear rotor can keep your emergency brake like OE 1 pc so the safety is not impaired.

I'm hearing that C63 one piece steel front rotors also fit the W218 CLS63 and cost about $120/ea.
Has anyone tried the C63 rotors? Is there any advantage of the C63 rotor over the E55 rotor?

"C63 & E55" Rotors are the same, the difference in drilled pots,

and "C63" got (2) retaining screw holes, while E55 has (1) only,,

see attached..

I have both a e55 and just picked up a cls63, the brakes on my e55 suck even though they're fairly new and I've warped the rotors on that car a couple times. The CLS will need front rotors soon and I'll most likely go with the girodisc 2 piece cheaper than stock. I don't know why anyone would want to downgrade on brakes you never know when you need to stop on a dime even during normal street driving.
