Kirk Dawson (my salesman) from Fletcher Jones Mercedes in Newport Beach was at the impromtu car show that occurs at the Crystal Cove shopping center on Coast Hwy in north Laguna Beach every Saturday morning from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM, and he was driving a CLS55. Having never driven a CLS55 before I asked if I could test drive the car and I must say I was very impressed.
Things that stood out were, sporty ride (more so than the E55) but comfortable. the transmission reacted very quickly to manual input (compared to my 540i BMW Wagon), exhaust was more authoritative than the E55, seating was sporty snug (you are held nicely behind the steering wheel, but not uncomfortably), and of course the POWER. My friend who was sitting in the front passenger seat said it felt a little claustrophobic (he has a little claustrophobic tendency anyway), Personally that never even occurred to me, so I guess, to each his own. For me the car definitely needs to be another 1" lower, and this particular car had Bridgestone Potenzas on it.

I am not sure, however Kirk said the car was loaded. They were not apparent to me because I did not push the car hard enough in a turn to activate them.

Yes I think you have to push the car hard. I had the CLS55 for a day and my impression was that you only feel the effect of the active seats if you are on throttle while cornering. I didn't really notice it making turns during normal street driving.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Their is a sensitivity control. Level 1, Level 2. If I make any turn, slow or fast, with or with out the throttle, I can feel the seats adjust. When I back out of the driveway and idle around 180* to leave the seats move. In my car the seats are very noticeable when the dynamic seats are on level 2. I absolutly love them. Would not order the car with out them.

I love it
Just picked up my CLS55 from FJ benz on sat. A must in Black! I got every option besides distronic. Love the car so far. Already beat a Bentley GT and a F360 spider.
It's amazing how it rides like a smaller sports car. Cant beat it for the $ other than the new Z06 but I'm not much of a new vette man. I'll stick to my 69.
