Opinion needed on tires please!

So I arrive home in my cls55 with less than 1500 miles and to my surprise, I notice a nail in the front tire! So I proceed to checking the rest of the tires and what do you know, just my luck, another TWO in the rear right tire. Must of went through a construction zone but for the life of me i cant recall any areas like this driving through. Took it to the tire shop they say unrepairable because the nail is too close to the outer-edge. Now I'm in a bind...do I replace the two practically brand new re050's or just replace all four with some Michellin PS2s or get rims and tires while I'm at it!!

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

I have never run into it with a NEW car with NEW tires, but was there any kind of road hazard guarantee with the tires on the car as new? you might want to check that.... I bought a new set of Mich up here for another older car....got a nail two weeks later and they replaced it FOC....now that was customer service!

Get some Michelin PS2 tires with the stock wheels. You will love how they improve handling and performance over thes stock tires. You will not be dissapointed.

Hah, how did I know that these tires were going to be recommended?

Indeed, the Michelin PS2s I've heard are promising and won't let you down.

Stick with 19" inch rims for best performance, and ride comfort.

2010 ZR1 2011 JGC Overland 2013 ML63 on order
To continue the discussion..

For drag racing, do the PS2's grip better than the stock Bridgestone Potenzea RE050a's ?

If they are better, I'll be considering doing the tire upgrade as well keeping the MKIV styled wheels that come with the 030 pkg.

One more question on upgrading tires..

Would it be beneficial to increase the size of the stock MK IV wheel which is 19" x 9.5" to a MK IV 19" X 10" and increase the diameter of the rear tire while I'm at it? I'm thinking something like a 305 in the back.

Would it appreciably help my traction off the line to launch this car?

I think you would have to go with a wider rim to put 305's on, like 19x11
Anytime you put more rubber on the ground you will increase your traction. But if you want to "drag" buy 2 rims and mt slicks on them
Problem I found was I wanted PS2's and the 305 width in a 20"rim. they don't make one. You almost have to decide on what tire you want to use, check the sizes they are available in, then match it to the proper sized rim.
