In this month's Automobile Magazine (the Design Issue), the CLS is named as one of the top 25 most beautiful cars EVER. It is in with an impressive crowd and is one of only a handful of cars that are currently on the market.

one of my partners owns the Bentley GT. We took my car out for lunch the other day after a few minutes and several people seen pointing at the car he was like **** this car gets more looks than my bentley. I had a big grin on my face.

I think this car is beautiful, sporty, sexy and affordable.I couldn't be happier with my purchase now just one more accolade to add to the "did you know that this car"

I have to assume that unique special build cars are not part of the survey.

What was the actual list ?

Everyone has their own taste. For me the 575 Maranello is my favorite car of all time. There are several others I drool over...the Bently GT, the Murcielago, a few other exotics. I would have to agree though, the CLS is a show stopper. It has a presence unlike most cars on the road. It catches the eye. It steals the scene. It dominates the area. It's baaad.

It has been more than a year now since I bought my car (1 year 4 months) and I still get all kinds of compliments. I attended a "wine release" at the Andretti Winery last Saturday and parked right next to a Bentley GT. My car was getting more attention than the Bentley. (I think Bentley is much more common in Napa Valley, perhaps?)

The article is not online so far as I can tell. But it is in the current issue of Automobile Magazine which is pretty widely available.

Nailed it
MrAmg,

I think you hit the nail in the head. Bentley GT down in miami have become so common, you see them in all the good neighborhoods.

The CLS55 is rare down here, I would love to know the actual numbers of 55 in their respective areas. How many per state maybe, I have only seen a handful down here, especially in South Beach. I have only seen one other 55 in the area.

So i think the fact that they are hard to come by makes them that much more attractive. "you always want what you can't get".

Nuff said,
Clos

CLS Population
There has to be a way to find out how many cls' s there are per state. Any ideas on how to get these numbers ?

I have seen only 1 other cls55 in the Chicago area.

CLS -- NOT One of 25 most beautiful cars of all time
CLS --is NOT Named as One of 25 most beautiful cars of all time

Sorry to burst your bubble but the Automobile Magazine article deals with the 25 most beautiful cars of all time, and then goes on to discuss current beautiful models, of which the CLS is one.

The CLS is most definitely NOT named as one of the most beautiful cars of all time - no writer would do that - for something to be of real beauty, it has to age well and the CLS has to age for many many decades before we will be able to tell how its looks have stood the test of time .........

Nevertheless - it is still a head turned today, and I for one LOVE the way it looks

We have A LOT of CLS's in LA...most are the base model though...they are a dime a dozen...the 55's are a little more rare...I would say about as rare as a Bentley GT which isnt THAT rare likeit was in 2004. In today's car world, there are just so many more choices then say around 8-9 years ago, where the hottest cars were the C5 vette and 996 cab. Now we have "affordable" Bentleys and Lambos, all kinds of badass benzs, beemers. We have SLR's Carrera GT's, Enzo's...so many supercars coming out lately it blows my mind...I guess times are good

CLOS.

I agree and test drove the Bentley. Liked the CLS more due to its styling not to mention that one cannot even get satellite radio in the Bentley... WTF???

80 grand more than my CLS and now I have to tear the dash apart to get satellite.....

A friend's neighbor asked him if his Bentley was the new Dodge......

If the rest of the world could read this thread they might well throw up. Reminds me of that lovely Chet Atkins number "Would Jesus wear a Rolex on his television show".
