I have the steering wheel raise, but can you have the seat move rearward as well? I saw the below paragraph on the mbusa website and it appears you may be able to...

Driver-programmable easy-exit feature can move driver's seat rearward and/or raise steering column when SmartKey is removed from ignition, and restore positions when key is reinserted

That's a great question.

I'll try to research it. I thought that that when the key is recognized the seat automatically reverted to the driver's default position....

In my 55, the seat would move back when the door opened and then returned to the configured position when the ignition position was achieved; the steering wheel moved up and returned at the same time as the movement of the seat. In the 63, only the wheel moves; I have to move the seat back when I get out and then press the program button to have it returnedvto the configured position. Even Steve could not reprogram that.

My service rep said the seat moving back on exit and the mirror moving down when placed in reverse were both removed in '07. Both of these options were on the '06 model we 1st looked at.

Steve restored the mirror tip down feature but couldn't restore the seat movement feature.

Same here, Steve can't reprogram the easy-exit seat movement.

The seat will move back and the steering wheel will move up once the car is cut off but the seat has a certain cutoff point where as if the driver has the seat in a saved position that goes past this factory set point then it does not move. Let your wife or a shorter person get in and move the seat forward and save in the memory then park and cut off the car and see if it moves back then. If not then the module for that is defective.

thats interesting. well, my steering wheel moves up... but i want to see if i can get the seat to move back as well. maybe i will play with the seat position tomorrow to determine that if my seat is farther up, will it move back when i turn off the car and open the door.

doesn't move when its past the factory setting, the setting is in the convenience.

So what I get when I turn the car off is the steering wheel goes up but my seat doesnt move. I've tried with the both keys different seat setting and there is no movement its like the seat has to be up all the way for it to work.

I loved this feature on my lexus there no matter what setting it had they both moved.

2010 RRS ; BMW K1200R; 14 E350 ; 14 RRS on order
The convinience feature on my W211 had three sub-options:

1) Steering wheel only
2) Seat only
3) Both

On my W219 I only get to turn the feature on and off. So I am assuming this is just another software update away from working.
