Supercharger shuts down!!
i have a problem with my 55,, the SC in my car shuts down for about 1 min 
am having this prob. for 2 weeks now, u cant hear the sound and the performance becomes so weak that i think a 350 can beat me 
so do any body had the same problem or heard of it ? or can tell me how 2 fix it ?

I wouldn't try to fix this yourself. Take it to the dealer and the star diagnost will say what the problem is. And if your car is still under warranty you've got nothing to worry about.

Yeah, it happens to most of the 55k engines. When I took the SL55 in to the dealer and complained about the supercharger, they knew that the pump was the problem and they fixed it right away. Haven't had any problems since.

so what are the typical symptoms ?
when the SC shuts off is this audible ? i assume the car is far less responsive when you hit on the gas ?
does it happen at high ambient temps or what ?

basically what happens is that the coolant circulation pump for the intercoolers fails. There is a relay in the system that sometimes burns its internal contacts and either won't make contact when it is supposed to or it melts together causing the pump to stay on all the time and eventually fail. If the car is under warranty, just take it in a get the repairs done. After it goes out of warranty, I'd say install one of the lightning pumps since many people have gone that route with good results.

(btw my car is produced in june 2006, one of the very last CLS55s to leave the factory, has this issue been resolved or not???)
