How many CLS55 models were made?
I was wondering, since the CLS 55 was only in production for about 1 and a half years, if anyone knew exactly how many were made?

Only 3,000 CLS 55 AMG cars will be built each year.

CLS quantities
I asked my local dealership here, and I got 2 different answers from 2 different sales managers?
One told me 900, and another told me 1400 ?
I'm guessing the actual number is probably between those two numbers. In either case, it is still very limited production.

CLS, Grand Cherokee, Range Rover HSE, 70 cuda 440+6
I would really like to say yes. But the newer cars keep getting faster and better. The old muscle cars held there own because the ression hit in the earlie 70's, and it took over 20 years for cars to get real performance and style back. But now car are pretty dam powerfull and there performance is excessive and this is supossed to be a ression. So as much as I want to say yes , growing up in a Car Crazed family Buisness surrounded buy muscle, exotics and luxury sedans I would have to say No.
Number cars for example 1996 corvette collector edition's chevy made 1000 of them each car is numbered with a plaque on the dash and also Buick GNX hold more value over time, but even they go down in value or sit at a relatively comfortably in values. I know I'm talking about American cause because you are in the same ballpark. they should of number of the CLS 55 putting plaques on the dashboard.
with that being said they are still a low production vehicle with great performance and style they will hold more value then a non AMG that is without saying.

CLS a Classic
I would say YES and NO ,, It all depends on their demand on the use car market,, right now some people are catching on about this cars used .. Top line European car with trend sitting style and at a new family sedan price when used .. I'm starting to see more CLS's 2006-2011 body styles ,, but I''ve seen more new body cls's than the original ... A big money collectible I would say probably not. Some of these so called car experts say that certain recent discontinued car's will be collectible big money cars and some will not turn out that way only time will tell. You have to get someone to PAY the big money ,, With such hype around getting a NEW car always works against the USE car .. I also think they will always hold a certain value period ,,, some many factors..
One thing is always true about cars holding long term value , its always been the model and what engine the car has period not options like navi , bluetooth. Cars with a special engines , size , superchargered ,turbochargered , limited production or body style will always hold a greater value to someone. You must remember these auto companies produce to many cars period so it very hard to buy a modern day future collectible.

While I would like the CLS to go up in value, I honestly think it will be a long shot. Perhaps 030 models may see a little bump, but unless it is limited run, lunch edition or IWC, I do not seeing it going up in value to rise to the level of a classic or collectors car.
