This is true, but isn't it funny from the looks of them both together the CLS looks like it would/should be the faster of the (2)
Mercedes seems to place function over form in a lot of their line-up....IE..E63 E55 S600 S65 etc. all look like they'd be slower than others like CLS55/63 SLK55 etc..But there not..

Today at California Speedway the CLS 63 beat the E class , in a close close matchup.
The CLS 63 is everybit as fast as the E63, but yeah weight is slightly higher in the CLS .
The C6 2008 is faster than the CLS 63 and E63, That LS3 motor is silly fast

I lost to a C6 LS2, I think I was pulling but he got me at the light. I trapped the same (112) Et was 12.4 vs 12.7. Remember that C6 is LIGHT over 1000 lbs lighter and we have 70-80 hp on em, not enough. Fun matchup though. once rolling the 63 does seem to gain a bit let me check my Timeslip.

Well the guy in an 08 C6 ran 11.99 and 11.97 @119, 118.5. the modded 55 could win but it would not be bested by a stock amg except a 65. Course the guy could have lied and had some mods.

The guy in the 08 in the C6 had to be lying. I doubt if stock C6s despite their LS3 engines can pull into the 11s' at nearly 120 mph.

Nope you're wrong buddy, the Juice is right! the new LS3 C6 has been dynoed multiple times now showing 390-395 rwhp bone stock that is 460+BHP they even de-tuned these bad boys a bit as guys are hitting 430 rwhp w/CAI and headers
that is Z06 C6 rwhp ZONE
for $2500My LS2 has 405 rwhp 398 rwto w/3.90 gears Cat-back, CAI, Kooks headers, X-pipe, hi-flo cats, Dyno tune..
No track runs yet I want to go to Sac town to see what she'll put down, w/3.90 gears I should be in the 11.70-11.90 119-122 range Obviously w/lots of practice as these things are a beehawtch to launch

Nice race it did appear you were gaining towards the mid-end? but the ET's you quoted 12.70-12.40 would = about 3 lengthsvery close indeedAnd from the sounds of the vid, I hate to say it but the C6 sounded like she was quite possibly sportin' Headers?? I could be wrong as the only cat-back on the market that sounds that aggressive is Bullets, I have them.

Hello everybody! This is my first time posting here after I've been observing you from the sidelines. (Go ahead and call me a troll for the first post)
Here's the deal: My dad has both a 2003 SL55 AMG and a 2006 BMW M5 with SMGIII. Now the question is, since my dad NEVER pushes both vehicles to their limits (He just drives them regularly like any regular cars), which car above is faster in terms of straight line, 1/4 mile, track etc.
I've used the search feature and there's not much to find or read. As you can probably assume, I like speed and am a speed freak for fast cars
I know both the statistics on both their performances but I wanna hear what YOU ALL have to say on this subject and what you all have to think personally to me. Better to hear your responses and your experiences than look at statistics...

Ha! Thanks. I already own a SL55 myself bone stock.
And that is an issue, with the driver and how the weather is. Don't forget the I/C Pump can easily fail causing the supercharger to shut down...
That and it's pretty impressive that your SL can beat down GT3s and hang with Z06s especially at the track!

Hey Thericker. Where've you been? We went out to the speedway on the weekend. Lot of vettes, VERY fast cars. you'd have loved it. Lot of vets running in the low 12s/high 11s at about 117 or 118. Not sure what the mods were.

group membership I'm a sophomore in High School and there's nothing and I mean "next to nothing" that happened really yet...
Seems like my middle school had better and more funnier memories/moments.
In middle school... some kid jumps out of a window during Math Class and runs around the whole school with our teacher chasing after him. Another one brought a whoopee cushion into our joked health class (our teacher was a sour 110 year old hunchback lady). He blew it and me and our whole table got sent down to the office including me.
Our 8th grade Social Studies teacher was horrible and I really mean it. He gave me a detention for "claiming" to me for not "doing" one assignment despite that I handed it in. He was prone to lose our work all the time and calling us on Sundays to redo it and give it back to him. He also had no knowledge on the subject and was frequently a big dick to all of us. Mostly unfair and unjust.
Last day of school, we get him fired and as he was in his classroom packing his belongings, most of me and my guys ran past him classroom and flipped him off. It's not like the school can do anything about it considering it was the last days of 8th grade at the school AND the teacher's last day.
