360 Forged Crash!

My buddy got side swiped in his 6 series - check out the wheel, didn't even crack! You hear stories about how rim halves crack and fall apart when you hit a pot hole. Here's proof that using quality materials actually makes a difference! Normally a hit like this would break a wheel into pieces.

This has to do with our forging process used on the center discs and rim halves. Not only are they strong, but in the event of a hard impact they actually bend rather than crack into pieces. And they don't bend easily either. Believe it or not this wheel is actually repairable, just replace the lip.

This would make me wonder about something however. In certain applications, like the handlebars on a bicycle for example, it is preferential to use a metal that will bend before it breaks. In this specific example I would rather use a titanium handlebar than an aluminum one because aluminum is so stiff that it snaps before it bends, and ti will bend before it breaks (and a snapping handlebar can be catastrophic). On an automotive wheel however, I believe I would want a metal that is so rigid that it won't bend at all. The more malleable a metal is, the more willing it will be to bend upon an impact like a pothole. I'm not trying to disrespect you as a wheel manufacturer, I am just thinking out loud.
