Pros and Cons re:1piece Forged and Cast?
I was wondering if anyone can tell me the pros and cons versus the two different types of rim construction.
Can also give me some advice on who makes a good quality 1 piece forged wheel.
Thanks guys. I'm still having difficult time in wheel selection because of this:

There are good quality single piece cast and forged, just like there are poor quality ones. Most of the single piece cast wheels probably wont fit the AMG models properly, due to the calipers and the offset. your best bet as far as forged single piece wheels is most likely the new HRE line or Lorenzo Forged. http://www.wheelpros.com/brands/index.php?id=6

The best 3-piece forged wheels are HRE and Iforged, they are heavier than 1-piece forged wheels but arguable look better. The best 1-piece forged wheels at a reasonable price are Renntech Monolite's, they are extremely light at only 20lbs for 19'' wheels; you can usually find them used in good condition for around $3,000.
Cast wheels are far inferior in all aspects. Not only are they much heavier, they are also weaker and prone to breakage, especially in pothole-heavy areas. Obviously they are much cheaper than forged wheels, you get what you pay for when it comes to wheels.

Thanks for all the info guys. I think I've decided to go with HRE M40-20" staggered fitments. Any suggestions on who has the best pricing on those?

If I could remember right, any retailer is supposed to sell those at whatever the list price is. Try contacting wheels boutique. www.wheelsboutique.com
