Question on CLS550 AMG?

I saw two different CLS550 today with two single exhaust pipes with AMG badging on them. Is there such a thing? I almost knocked on the driver window to FIND OUT!

That is so messed up! Shouldn't have allowed the poser badge! No wonder the AMG models value doesn't hold water. It's not as exclusive as it should be! WATERED down IMHO!

a lot of people just get pushed on by those options and don't even realize whats so special about the badge or if they are infact posing.

I saw one like that a few months ago driving aggressively along huntington drive here in southern cal.

So I pulled up along his side and then powered ahead and cut in front of him so that he could see I was in a true AMG.

When he caught up to me at the next light, he checked me out and clearly looked embarassed as he said to me "nice ride".

So no... we should have no respect for posers. I can't believe the post in the other tread about 55 to 63 badging...

I would not advise that, as much as it may tempt you to knock on someones window. You might not like the response, touching someones car.

Exactly, I have never understood the logic of changing emblems. Enjoy and be proud of what you drive.

MB should do it like Brabus and some of the other tuners... You cant buy emblems/covers on their motor packages unless u actually HAVE IT!!!

Is putting the AMG badge at the back that big of a deal? The 500 or the 550 has the option from factory to order the "AMG Sports Package" and they purposely make it almost identical, exterior wise, to their 55/63 line. It also comes with rims that have "AMG" on them and also the twin exhaust also have AMG imprinted on them too. 4 wheels and 2 exhaust tips with "AMG" = Total 6 places from factory with "AMG" on it.

Changing the model # from 500/550 to 55/63 or like the other person that wanted to change from the 55 to 63 is misleading and unnecessary IMO. When I took delivery of my car the dealer offered to put the AMG badge on mine and they said they had done that on a few CLS that they sold already! Hey, think about it, $30 would be the cheapest and easiest mods that the 500/550 owners can do to their rides

And no, I personally opted not to put that on my 550. Just my $.02.

Is lying that big of a deal? If you answer yes, then yes it is.

The point is that it will never come from the factory with the AMG badge on the boot, that badge signifies that the whole car is AMG tuned.

Dealers are scum and will do anything to make a buck, they don't care. I bet they'd put on an M badge if you wanted.

This post is about the AMG badge at the back on the trunk and not like the other post where another owner wanted to change from 55 to 63. My point is since the AMG Sports Package already comes with 6 different places with "AMG" on it then if another owner wants to add another one on WITHOUT adding something like the 55Kompressor or AMG 6.3 onto the sides then may be that's only for cosmetic purpose?

Sorry bud, not acceptable as many people have mentioned before. If Mercedes-Benz wanted the AMG emblem on the trunk of a car with the AMG sport package, they would have done so from the factory. People don't put the badge on the back of their cars for cosmetic purposes. Its to give off the impression that their car is worth 20-30k more than it is.

ehhhh, especially Brabus doesn't seem to care about that as you buy the Brabus letters here at pretty much every dealer!

But nonetheless i think its stupid to badge a car at all! looks so much better without it.
