CLS63...any good buys out there right now?

I've decided it's time to get into a CLS63 and im certainly looking for preowned with not too many miles (less than 15K) for a nice daily driver. Im not looking to mod the car, etc. but want to get a realistic idea of the market for these cars. I've checked around online and it seems like the going rate for an 07 would be anywhere from 65-70K for a no stories car. However, given the economy, depreciation, gas prices, etc., they could be had for a little less. Im ready to capitalize on the slow market

Im interested in BLK/BLK so if anyone is selling or knows of a nice clean CLS63 for sale, let me know.

I've seen some really nice 55s for sale and might be tempted to go that route for the price alone. Aside from the engine differences between the 2, what are the major differences (body, interior, electronics, etc.)? I've talked to a couple dealers and they say they are virtually identical. If I go with the 55, extended warranty is an absolute must.

Thanks guys!

I believe the 55 kompressor has the SBC brake system. Major issues with SBC. Otherwise I have seen some nice low mile 55s.

Here is what changed for 2007 for the CLS AMG
-All in one Sat radio/NAV antenna (no more truck antenna)
-7 speed automatic trans
-Deletion of the SBC braking system

I maybe forgetting other items, but others will fill it in.

Basically it breaks down to this. If you are willing to spend money on Mods, go with the 55. If you plan on keeping it stock, go with the 63.

I'd also say it depends what will fit your driving style. the 55's going to give you more grunt through every day driving.

I was thinking the same thing you were thinking and I ended up with a CPO 55 with 9k miles. mods are going to be mostly brabus

At the time of my purchase, I had the opportunity to test drive the 55 and 63. Chose the 55. The massive torque this car puts out is impressive and adictive.
No issues at all and no problems with SBC.

I drove the E55 today and the braking system on the CLS is by far much better. As for the power and grunt I can not say, My CLS will tear up a stock 55 but it does have some minor mods. The E55 is one sweet ride

Think he meant issues as in it sucks. I dislike the SBC in my 55, much prefer the braking in the 63's.

With a CPO and 9k miles? Maybe if you pray a whole lot. Otherwise combine another 5-10k with some good luck.
