Car's shaking badly.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSwyCIJEyPg
As you can see my CLS 63 shaking badly![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
This shaking happens random. It seldom happened, but now It's happens every time when I drive at the speed of 130~150km/h, 200km/h~250km/h.
This is killing me![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
The Road condition is perfect but not my car. It always happen only straight not while in the turning. and as soon as move my foot from acceleration pedal The shaking STOPs immediately. The German MB technician who comes to South Korea test drove it and said it caused from tune Wheel and Tire.
![bs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bs.gif)
What do you think?
Here comes my CLS 63's spec
1) HRE M40 19" wheels ( for CLS 63 of course)
2) F : Pirelli Rosso 255-35-19 R : PS2 295-30-19
3) no lowering at all ( stock )
4) exhaust : no 2nd cats and resonator and carlsson muffler
5) Besides wheel and tire and exhaust mods ALL STOCK !
I don't think wheels and tires(285->295) could cause that bad shaking.
So here's my Q.
1) Does the Renntech Toe link can solve this bad shaking?
2) I think something wrong with my Air-matic system What do you think?
3) Do you think bigger tire(285->295) can cause this?

I just recently went through the same situation. but it may not be shaking as bad as yours.. However it was my front wheels, it was bend from hitting a pot hole... check your wheels to make sure is not bend or damage.

Shaking....
Speed related shaking is a wheel problem til proven otherwise.
Balance.....
Bent wheels.....
Drive shaft issues are rare.

thanks for quick reply guys~
see the thing is I've change wheel 2 times.
OEM wheel -> shaking happened twice a year
2nd wheel -> shaking happened 3-times per 4 moths.
3rd wheels(M40) -> shaking happend twice first 3 months and then not happened for 3months, after that it happened again and now It happened always.![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
So I assumed that does not related wheels and tires but It might does related with AIR-Matic. cause that symtom still happen but wheel and tires chagend but AIR-MAtic. And also When My car is shaking the steering wheel deos not shaking at all.

What are
you doing with 2 different widths and the same profile front and rear?
You have 2 different tire diameters installed. You abs ,the cruise control and all other traction systems are detecting the difference.Your rear tires are almost a full inch taller than the fronts and they are spinning almost 32 rpm fewer times per mile.Have the proper profile tires installed so front match rear in rolling diameter.then have them properly balanced. That should solve your issues.

Does it feel like the shaking is coming from a specific side of the car??????
The answer is NO to all your questions.
It sounds like U have a bubble in your tire. If the shaking feels strong in one or two sides then thats where its from...
Get the car lifted and check for an abnormal bump/bubble/pimple in the tires. Be sure to check the inside of the rim.
gd luck

I would really have the car brought to your local Mercedes-Benz dealer or authorized MB service center to have it looked at. ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Somethings surely not right to have the car violently shake like that.

I did ^_^
right now my cls is at the stealer shop. They examined air-matic system and replaced sensors and Air-matic control module but still the symptom is there. and they test drove it and then They blame on my wheels and tires. cause it's not OEM wheels and tires. So I 'll pick it up today and I'll check wheels and tire's runout, bent and tire bubble very carefully. There is a special machine to check road holding power and runout of wheels and tires at my local tire shop. So That'll be be clear once I check my wheels and tires with that special machine whether it's defected or not. One thing I'm worring about now is what If that machine says My wheels and tires are OK. Then What shall I have to do? Should I have to change tires? I have no answer for that now.

Do you know anyone who has the same car as you? what i would do is see if the would be willing to swap the wheels from there car on to yours, first off if you do still have the shake you know its not the wheels and tires 2nd if they have the shake on there car too then you know its your wheels and tires, and some thing else.
this would be the cheep way about looking in to things.

It has to be bent wheels I'm sure of that. Nothing else would cause this and these cars are notorious for having bent rims.

Hello Yunica,
This is strang, and the odd thing is that you have stated this happens with three different sets and at random times. This would lead me to believe that it is something other than the wheel and tire packages that have been on the car.
we typically run the 255 and 285 setup on the 19" Monoblok applications, but I know that people have run up to a 305 tire on these cars without any problems.
The first thing people will tell you is that it is the wheels, tires, or both. These are one of the three variables and that is why. Since this has occured with factory and HRE wheel and that you said it stops when you lift off the accelerator, this tells me that something else is causing this issue. Tires and wheels that are out of balance will continue to vibrate at the given speed whether or not you are on the gas.
I had a similar situation with a brand new car that vibrated between 40-75mph. Ultimately the vehicle went back on lemon law. It was later determined that the the input shaft in the transmission was out of spec.
The nice thing about the wheels and tires is that you can eliminate that as a factor very easily. You can contact me via email guya@hrewheels.com or directly by phone 760-597-2003 and I will be more than happy to walk you through some things to check.
I hope I have been helpful.
