Whats the different between 172mm and 180mm pulleys

about two years ago the question was deeply discussed and the consensus, at that time, was for a pulley close to 170mm as the best option .

i have fitted a 172mm pulley,sports cat,k&n filters. and my car has gone slower,any suggestions

i have recently tuned it, it is better showing max 582hp on dyno.but now @ times it goes in to a limp mode for a couple of secs when i set off & then powers up & then @ times it doesnt power up @ all untill i release the gas & power up slow.i know its not the ESP becouse that normally flashes, dionostics have been checked no foults shown.is it possibly over boosting.thanks

I know this is a really old thread, but if you see this, and haven't figured it out yet(I'm sure you have), replaced your I/C pump.
