cls55 -what is with the oil leaks on valve covers

One of them at 22k miles even have a power steering leak.. Is this a major repair?
my 2000 ml55 and 2002 s430 are bone dry underhood no leaks at all. I expect the same with the supercharged engine.
But mine had the covers resealed under warranty @21k miles, and had the coil packs inspected during the repair.
They use a sealer, instead of a gasket. Perhaps there is expansion issues or sealer degradation over time.

I had a leak, removed breather cover, cleaned the sealing area, and put new gasket maker down, and bolted back up.
Cost about $8 and took maybe an hour (most of which is spent cleaning the old sealant off).

My car (CLS 55 AMG 2006, 55k miles) was just in the annual maintenance and the serviceman said that my valve cover gasket / rocker cover gasket is leaking oil in the engine. I have the German Mercedes-Benz used car warranty (Gebrauchtwagen Garantie). Do you think this is covered by the warranty? Is this a serious problem and what kind of symptoms does this usually cause? I haven't really noticed any major problems with the car. What might have caused the leak and is this problem common? I was quoted that repair costs would be around 600 USD.
