My new toy! My CLS55 AMG with Kleemann K2 package!

I've been meaning to post this for a while (bought the car a month and a half ago LOL). I started a family a while back and have now been itching to get back in to the fun horsepower club and have wanted my next project to be a CLS55 for quite some time now. Finally I found a great deal on this one in Biloxi so I snatched it. I love the Granite Grey Color. The color truly has a mind of it's own when it is in certain lighting conditions.

The car is in perfect shape and the previous owner added some performance goodies by having a Kleemann K2 package installed. I'm already itching to add more already. It's pretty damn quick with the mods, but I'm never satisfied (we never are LOL). I've already ripped out my dash and wrapped it in carbon fiber material and I am also almost done swapping out my Comand screen with a Kenwood DNX-9960 screen. I should have this all done by the weekend.

I'm glad to finally be a part of the AMG family!

My previous fun toy....

Sure thing but I'm not quite finished with the dash and new screen install but it's almost there and should definitely be done by the weekend. I'm doing everything myself so it's taking a little longer than I expected mainly because of the screen, running the RCAs and other cables and connecting the speakers to an external amp. Here are some teasers though.

The cf dash looks really sweet! How hard was it to wrap the cf on the dash?

You took the question right out of the CPU. Looking good. You should try to wrap the install kit on the radio too. Nice to see someone else turning the old screw. I'm thinking about replacing my head unit as well. The only thing stopping me is that I have a lifetime subscription to Sat Radio and I don't think you can transfer it.

Already ahead of you buddy! I was doing some test fitments earlier. It's coming along nicely. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. When it's finished I'll snap the final product with my DSLR camera. Also, have you asked Sirius about the subscription transfer? I have no regrets replacing the Comand screen. The Comand system is truly horrible in my opinion. The Kenwood uses Garmin software and Navigation is light years better with this thing. I even have the option of running split screen with Navi on the left and Sirius, ipod or DVD showing on the right. Now I have in-motion DVD, ipod connector, rear view cam, Sirius, bluetooth for phone and microphone, USB connector to change the home screen background, ability to connect another LCD in the rear for the little one, etc. It's worth it and more. I wanted to turn the wrench myself on this because it really isn't hard to do yourself. Just know where to unbolt/unscrew, what to pop off, know which speaker wires are which and cut and connect, run RCAs, and find 12V constant and switched power (There is no harness if you're running fiber optic) and you're good to go!

Sample pic of my wrapped dash kit. I used the E-class one and dremeled the middle brace that was on it (came that way from Scosche).

Thanks man. As far as the wrap, it wasn't super hard but it did get cumbersome at times. If you've never done it, it's kind of a PITA in some areas in terms of stretching and making the glue stick and hold (mainly below the gauge cluster and A/C control unit area). Another PITA is making sure the patterns line up on each panel I worked on. As long as you have patience and you're up for some trial and error, then you're good to go. For those that aren't quite handy, I would definitely pay someone to do it. It's very tedious and took me a couple of days and at one point made me want to pay someone to do it. You might have an easier time with the 3M dinoc vinyl version since all you need is a heat gun. I decided to go with the fabric and sprayed it with 3M Super 77 glue. I opted for the fabric because I felt the quality looked better.

Did you also wrap the slider in the back seat that you can slide open and close?

Are you going to use factory SAT antenna? It looks like in one of your pictures you posted that you have an after market one on.
