fair price for '08 cls63?

I've given up on the 220 600 and I'm looking to get a 2008 cls63 with 37k miles. I know the 63 is slower but the one I'm looking at is priced at $54K...not bad for an amg car...my brother is trying to talk me out of the s550 sport and it's about the same price. I don't know much about the cls and wondered if anybody had any input about what price I should reasonably expect to pay for the car above? Thanks in advance for your help, John

Hey Juicee...thanks for the reply. Nope...it doesn't have the 030 package. I know it a little high in miles but it's still under factory warranty and I can extend it. I'm down to three cars...and they're all different...a 2007 s550 sport with 27k miles, cls63 with 37k miles or a M6 couple with 23K miles. Thanks for your help in advance! John

Nothing wrong with an S550, and sport is even better. I love the S550, comfy and doesnt getting the police chasing you as often. I save the Buell for the times I have that need for speed.

wow im also stuck looking at S600 2007 and S65 2006.

I definately LOVED my CLS 63 it has less miles and the performance package and the dealer here is askingf 55k for it after buying it at auction for 42k.

I would say the 08 CLS 63 has some room to come down, definately easier as a daily than the M6. Similar performance. The S550 likely the most comfy but not really a comparison in power.

Actually 54k ...Not terrible, maybe offer 50 and call it a day.

I think 54k is a great price for an '08. Just my opinion of course.

MERCO /// AMG e6.3
Its an OK price. Im willing to let my 08 CLS63 with PII Package with 8k miles go for low $60s....sticker was 108k...as a point of reference CARMAX will give me $57500. Id buy an AMG over the S550 in a heartbeat .

Really? It has 37k miles, that's hardly 12k mi per year. What mileage would you expect for an '08, which is 3+ years old right now?

Seems 'bout average for a daily driver?

A good test of a reputable dealer:

1. Weekend Test Drives
2. Purchase price due in 10 days after sale.

I have purchased a couple of cars on my word and handshake with paper work to follow. If the dealer accepts that he is honest as you are.

Thanks for everyone's help. I drove both the M6 and CLS63. Before I started I told myself I wanted the M6...I test drove it first then the 63. Without a doubt, for me, the CLS is a much better car. The M6 may have been faster once it moves but it was so complicated to drive fast it was stupid...imho! In the city, it either up shifts to fast or it has a serious lag between shifts. The interior...no comparison. I'm sure the M6 is a great car but for some, but not for me. Then I went and test drove the CLS. The first thing I noticed was the interior. Much better...no peeling on any of the trim and more comfortable. Nail the gas and it hauls azz...and it does it so easily. Some things about the 63...not as fast as my 600...and it will take more money to make it faster and requires a lot of "bolt on's" unlike the ecu tune on the 600. The 63 is a blast to drive though vs the 220! The car is black on black with 38k miles and I paid 53K for it. At three other dealerships I was offered 12k for my 600. The place where I bought the 63 gave me 15.5K!!...so it was a no brainer for me. I got a PPI and the car checked out good and it's under the factory warranty...the repairs on the 600 were killin' me and it wasn't logical to keep it. Since Jerry with Eurocharged is here in Houston I'll probably get him to do an ECU tune first, then an air box and maybe a pulley. I've already put in the K&N's and removed the charcoal filters. John.
