Retrofitting CLS 63 Steering into CLS 55. Paddles dont work. Any Ideas?
I am trying to fit a cls63 paddle shift steering into my CLS 55. Everything works great except for the paddles. They do not do anything. Audio, volume etc works with lights coming on at night. Has anybody tried this? Here is a pic of the said steering.

Any ideas would be great. According to the tech handling the car, there are 2 wires not going anywhere.
Regards,
Dev

The wiring harnesses are different so this is what's going to have to be done unfortunately.
Hope that helps.
and will get the techs to try out swapping the original 55 shift module into the 63 steering when i'm off to my dive trip.
It took me 10 minutes to swap mine.

As far as the dated look, people did this mod 5 years ago... You wanted "any ideas", this is one.
You can pick one of these SWs for $300-$400 and swap it yourself in 30 minutes if you don't know what you are doing.
A newer style SW requires a new airbag and someone to retrofit the shifting modules from the old SW to the new one. If you are paying someone to do it for you, that's at least 5 times more.
Budget aside, your new OEM wheel looks great and I hope you get it working.

Thanks.
start with removing the + from the battery, there is two torx screws on the back of the steering wheel on either side. cant remember the size off hand that will loosen the airbag. then once thats off disconnect the wire to the airbag, steering wheel is held on with a T10mm bolt. its on tight use a long socket wrench for leverage and hold the steering wheel tight. to install follow reverse order and dont forget to reattach the battery.
