**Those of you who have Hankook Ventus V12's**

Guys-

I am getting vastly conflicting info on these tires. I've read a dozen or so reviews and have searched this site to get the straight scoop from owners.

Will you please weigh in with your opinion if you have actually owned or won these tires on your car?

I'm in Seattle and my 55 is used as a DD I drive on the 'spirited' side. I will put ~25k per year on the car so cost-effectiveness is a consideration. The new tires will be mounted on 20's.

Yes i have the v12's they seem to hold up ok and i too drive on the spirited side lol. I blew one tire but other than that no issues, I am running 22" I think any low pro tire i had on would have blown from the uneven roads due to construction

22's in NY? I'm surprised you've blown just one!
Thanks for the feedback.

I just ordered these for my new wheels that are 20s. I think the consensus is that the Michelin Pilot Super Sports are the best but at also almost twice the price. I think most that have had the V12s think they are pretty good and much better than stock.

I believe Vic has these on his CLS so he may chime in with better hands on experience

Good cheap tire, not as good as PSS's or PS2's but we all know this. On my CLS I dont track the car but instead push it rather hard in straights and high speed turns and the Kooks do their job.

The serve their purpose on a GT car and have a good price point. I go thru tires every 5k miles on the CLS so its more fitting. You can get a set of 255x30x20 (2) and 305x25x20 (2) for under 850 dollars.

On my 997.2TT Id run nothing but PS2's (oem). And once I burn the contis out on the C63 BS Ill be looking into PS2's or PSS's depending on size availability... these two cars are more demanding of a excellent tire.

You will be fine with Hankooks on an E55.

I'm running 305&255/25/20 Falken FK 452 rubbers. They are a harder compound but living in phoenix they're pretty much up to temp as I leave the driveway. No complaints. Good grip, quiet ride and handles like it's on rails when I feel like getting into it. Discount tire lists them at 370/ea for rears and do not stock the fronts.

Great deal, was even better when they 1st came out. I've had a few different set ups on my CLS55 and once I went with the V12's I haven't put anything else on.

I am running 255/30/20 and 305/25/20 on my CLS 550. I have put about 7k on the V12s.

This is what I think;
Roadholding Dry: 7/10 (but still way better than the Continentals that my car came with)
Roadholding Wet: 8.5/10 (very surprised with cornering ability in the wet)
Road Noise: 10/10 (my tires are relatively new, so that is probably impacting this result)
Price: 9/10

I would buy the tire again, and recommend it to my friends.

I assume you mean the rears every 5K? Have the Kooks lasted longer than the Contis? I have 5600 miles on my CLS now and am shocked that the rears are pretty much already toast 3/32 to 4/32 of tread left. My fronts still have 9/32! Renntech tune certainly decreased the tread drastically. Can't hook up at all anymore but new wheels and tires will be here in two weeks

I sell the V12s all the time and never hear any complaints.

Great tire for the price I'd say!

Yes for sure just the rears--- I had the contis on for maybe 700 miles so i wore out the Kooks in 4300 miles.

pros: great tire for the price, nice tread pattern, square type sidewall, quiet.
cons: soft - wear very fast, not that sticky (wouldnt track these tires), if youre lowered and staggered and flip them they get noisy.

I have Conti's on my and like them. Did one track day at Laguna and about 6k miles on street, still look great.
On my Honda I have Ventus12 and not to impressed with them. It may be difference in car but it seams Conti's have better and more predictable grip.

I drive a cls55 as much as you. I tried P zero rosso and the v12's seemed to stick and wear about the same at a fraction of the price. Then I tried conti DWS. They didn't seem to wear at all and I liked the silence, but they aren't as sticky. Loud complaining noises if you push them. Don't know if they make 20's

I had them on a Lexus SC430 and they almost wore out at 4500 miles....garbage in my opinion.
