So while at a light in my stock CLS 55, a newer model (2009+, 556hp, etc) cts-v rolls up next to me. Us both having a car in front of us didnt allow for a race at this moment, but the car in front of him took off well ahead of the car in front of me, allowing the cts-v to cut over into my lane. So then I eventually get around the cars and start to head up to him, but by this time he had a good distance on me...So after finally catching up, the racing begins!.......We both come up to a red light and as we're slowing down to make a complete stop (only going about 5-8 mph), light turns green; We both punch it..after both of us having a bit of wheel spin, we get it together and are neck and neck..he then SLOWLY starts to pull away, not even half a cars length, but then we have to stop b/c of traffic..so after weaving in and out of traffic, we meet again. This time we're both at a complete stop at a light with some decent distance ahead of us...I began to rev to about 1100 rpm before taking off...light turns green, we take off..I got an amazing launch with almost zero wheel spin in which I had a VERY noticeable lead on him..At my peak, I'd say I had him about one and a half, maybe two car lengths. I got up to about 75-80mph before having to start to slow down due to traffic, but prior to that, I definitely seen him coming up (quite fast) in my side mirror. Which leads me to believe he would have definitely caught up with the appropriate amount of space. Even though I won, I still dont know if my car is faster than those day in and day out? Could've been a bad driver, who knows..I was just excited lol oh and I had full tank of gas along with my dad (190lb) and the cts-v had zero passengers.

WOW , that sounds pretty dam good for a stock CLS 55 and the BIG BAD CADDY, I have not been challenged yet buy a V or M5 and I'm modded . That V is suppose to walk u day and night .. Half car led is nothing . I messed with a M5 v10 on highway enough that he had to challenge me , he never would get next to me for a roll only ducked in and out of traffic to get and advantage than take off ,, I eventually caught him , we get off at same exit to top streets and he didn't want anything to do with me ..

Lol @ big bad caddy. But yea, given that the V is suppose to be "the fastest production sedan" (pre 2012 cls 63 PP & 2013 M5), I was expecting to get embarrassed. But as for the M5 V10, I believe our cars stock for stock has a chance to take them and with your car being modded, it could have gotten ugly for the M5. He must've been a little too smart to line up evenly with you.

Haha, you obviously don't know my dad; the man has owned 11+ sport bikes, tons of race cars, and currently has a Z28 Camaro with 1700 hp for his track car..If I didnt race the cts-v, he might of been dissapointed in his son. Now if I had a "grandpa like dad" then of course I wouldn't have raced. But no disrespect taken.

Saw an episode of Top Gear last year with a E63 VS CTS-V. The Caddy edged out our "babies" by a car+. I have to admit, I was impressed, but I sent my ECU to Weistec for a little R&R. I like my chances now if I happen to encounter a CTS-V. LOL. P.S. Regardless, the caddy is still going to breakdown sooner then a Benz !!!
