I have given up tracking down any parasitic drain. Sometimes the car is fine for several days, other times it is "convenience features disabled" after one day. I have been through all 3 fuse boxes with a multimeter looking for the culprit and can't find it. Battery tests fine and is not too old. It seems to be well correlated to cold mornings for me (under 10 degrees C).

Do you know or check the voltage of the main battery when you receive the message? One of the best ways to find a parasitic drain is to use a thermal imager connected to your phone. When you know the battery is under increased drain use the imager to find what is awake and casuing the drain. Any device that is causing a drain will generate heat.

Yes I use the voltage function in the menu. It is either 12.0 or 11.5V I forgot but always the same cut off when the car disables everything to conserve power. I got 0.3A I believe adding all the measurements together from the various circuits with the car asleep. Should be low enough to last at least a few days. My Toyota had a 3A draw which still took several days to drain the battery, traced that one to trunk light staying on 24\7.

@machild say about 3 days before I get the convenience functions disabled. Both main& aux battery are new. Voltage regulator new and confirmed that its working properly (14.2v loading).

I found another thread indicating either the BCM or F32 prefuse (the capacitor).

As you might have seen in a thread in the W211 section, I did a dynorun last weekend. It didnt show me the information I expected to see, so I suspect something went wrong during the measurement. The thread can be seen here: https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...ent-wrong.html

Dyno results 457Bhp / 717Nm at the crank. That would mean: -20PK below stock and +17Nm above stock. This does not sit right with me as my dragy results seem to point to a higher power (pun intended :P ). 100-200kph in 8.99 secs

The dyno run from last saturday. Last part of the video is dark, because I filmed with my phone with stabilisation turned on

Also replaced my crank position sensor not too long ago. Was easier than expected, and only found maybe 1 video which shows where it is on the M113k. I also filmed the replacement process, but it seems my headmount was pointing too much upwards, so the video of replacing it ended up pretty useless...

Nevertheless, the replacement should be pretty self explanatory once you see where it's located.

I opted for a new Bosch sensor

Some steps towards solving the parasitic drain, replacing the old style Battery Control Module (aka BCM) with the latest revision (came from a 2007 E-class if I am not mistaken). Layout is a little different, but the connections are all in the same place. On the E-class, this sits in a place where water ingress is likely to happen. The W219 BCM location is much more safe in the back of the trunk.

After some cleaning with a scotchbrite pad

Old & newer compared. I read something about the old one being an inherently faulty design

Old partnr: A2115406945

Unfortunately, it was not the solution for the parasitic drain. But it works perfectly

Removed the alarm siren, as I read that the onboard (non-serviceable) nimh batteries will leak over time, keeping some module alive to charge them (infinite loop). Also not the solution, and I will replace it with a brand new one in time

Some dirt accumulated in the wing, I will check the other fender in the near future.

Partnr: A1718202526

Rusty cage for the siren (we have a sea climate here in NL)

Removed the old Nokia phone + charger / docking station from the center console. The charger felt quite warm after letting the car sit in my garage with the windows open. Right now, ambient temps are around 10c and this felt warmer. I thought I found the smoking gun as @machild mentioned, but the drain remains.

Its easy to remove, pry the top part loose and then you will see 2 connectors which unclip easily.

And removed the phone holder and bought a 10" screen for wireless Android Auto / Apple Carplay. I will only use this for navigation purposes and it works quite well! Not the fastest unit, but you get what you pay for off course

Replaced the AUX battery relay. The new version is a lot heavier than the old version

You only need to remove the cowell partially to gain access to the relay

Old vs new

Some error messages I got

This message presented itself after replacing the relay? Fortunately I had another AUX battery lying around. After fitting that battery the error message was solved...

Also replaced the drivers side mirror glass before it really gets cold over here. I replaced the passengers side last year,

I learned 3 things

1) The original mirror also has auto dimming! Quite fancy for a car from 2005, I never noticed it though
2) Mirror heating works automatically, based on the ambient temp sensor (12 degrees Celsius or colder)
3) Aftermarket mirror does not have auto dimming (not a dealbreaker for me)

2 pins for the heating function. It does have room for the connector for the dimming function haha

Original mirror glass

Received this error message after a bit of driving, I think it has to do with the relief valve of the airmatic compressor, but dont know for sure
