1500 is a lot

1500 is a lot of CLS55's. AMG must be trying to use up all those superchargers before they come out with the new 6.3 normally aspirated engine in 2006.

For comparison, there are supposed to be only 200 CL65's and my next door neighbor has one and I will soon have another.

AMG cars are all mass produced items these days so don’t get all elitist on us quite yet.

Paying 187k or so for a CL is a bit of a stretch. The CL55 is a wonderful car but another 55k for a few tenths off a 0-60 time or in the 1/4 mile? Clearly not worth it. In so-cal you cant sell a CL65 to anyone these days. They sit on the showroom floor collecting dust. Seen the same 4 for about a month now.

9 years AMG cars were rare. These days an AMG just normal. Drove around town yesterday for work and for the first half of the day I saw more SL55's than I did SL500's.

Just a car.....Nothing more

...because it's supercharged. Think about it, the reason why BMW owners criticize AMG MB owners is because our cars are supercharged whereas theirs are naturally aspirated. HOWEVER, we get to have the luxury that a BMW does not include, and that luxury comes with anywhere up to 1-2 thousand more pounds. Hence, in order to compete speed wise, we need a supercharger. Then the Beamers b!tch and moan.
