I think there is a new location
I just purchased a CLS500 and am awaiting delivery in a few days. I am getting Sirius and was told that a separate antenna was purchased and would be installed out of sight. When I get the car later this week, I will confirm, but they know I won't accept a lump on the rear deck.

My CLS 55 is a 2nd week March build....I ordered Sirius, but will not accept a blob on the trunk. I hope MB has come to their senses.

I spoke to my service advisor and the answer is yes, the antenna is still a blob in the middle of the rear decklid. Your best bet is to order the car without Serius installed. You can then buy the Serius unit from your dealer and have them install everything EXCEPT the antenna. Then have a competent aftermarket installer finish up by mounting the antenna on the top of the dash. It works just fine.
(You could have the aftermarket installer do the whole thing, but most don't have the MBZ diagnostic software needed to initialize the system)
Just be sure to have your service advisor PERSONALLY tell the technician about NOT installing the antenna. The problem is that the very first instruction in the tech manual is "Drill hole in middle of trunk lid". If he reads the manual before the work order, you're toast. (Don't laugh, this actually happened to me on my SL55!)

Got mine today
I picked up my CLS500 today with Sirius installed by my dealer. They have done three other cars for me and they know I will not accept an unsightly install.
They placed the antenna under the rear parcel shelf, just like they did my E Class. The reception is quite similar to my E Class- not perfect when you drive among trees but acceptable and preferable to a lump on the trunk.

My car is Obsidian Black, so the antenna is not so bad. I was also told it is much smaller than it used to be. Anyone know for sure? I can still cancel the factory install if necessary. Is there a significant price difference between factory and dealer installed Sirius?
