my navi is behind
My navi is about 200-300 feet behind the actual spot where i'm at. Is this normal ? if not, is there any way to fix it ? I've calibrated my system with the new tires and everything.
Also, if anyone is kind enough to copy (not sure if this works) a 2005 or 2004 Navi #2 (colorado) CD for me, I'd really appreciate. I'll pay of course.
Thanks !!

when you go to the navi setting menu, there's an option called "calibrate" and u're supposed to put your tire size. thats what i did.

I doubt that it is ever dead on the money, but it is not far off at all. Mine shows a little off at times, but not enough to worry about.

Satellite navigation is supposed to be off a little, so it can't be retrofitted for weapons targeting by hostile interests. Only military units are dead-accurate. This was true even before 9/11. I've used GPS systems with my laptop and this came from Garmin, I believe.

200-300 feet, that's about right. All Navigations I have or used (MB Comand, Toyota Nav., PDA GPS, Honda Nav.) are within this range.

The GPS unit uses two methods, one is a GPS position signal that it acquired every 5 or so secs, the other method is dead reckoning. By knowing your last GPS location the direction you were heading, the speed you are going at and a gyroscope for angle it can keep the little icon moving between GPS signals. I found on mine it seemed to be off a little like yours, I would already have passed a road but on the GPS I was just getting to it. I went into the calibration screen and fudged my tire size from 225/45/17 to 225/51/17 and now its pretty accurate.

Thanks I'll try that. the other day i put 265/30/19 (rear) instead of 235 (f) and it was way off, like it showed that i was driving on another road that was parallel

press the right rotary button in for 2 secons and it should take you back to the main menu.
Also, here's a link to online Navi manual: http://home.earthlink.net/%7Ephdwebs...and_manual.htm
