c32 amg in snow?

I was wondering how the C32 amg would be in the snow with good snow tires on (Blizzaks maybe). I know this car is known for not being good in the snow, but is it still safe? I live in NY if that matters....
sry if this is a dumb question im new to the forums
Thanks

I live in Chicago and used to own a 2002 C32, with winter tires it was good in the snow, not great but good. A couple of things, you must have snow tires at all 4 corners Blizzaks, Dunlop's etc. I downsized to 16" rims. After 600 or 700 miles on dry pavement my Blizzaks seemed to grip the snow/ice better than when they were fresh. I also drove the car in Winter mode on the snow with the ESP off and it made life easier. In Normal mode wheel spin was still common and ESP would kick in all of the time. As with any perfromance car winter driving is not ideal but I never had any experiences where I felt unsafe.

Snow tires make a big difference! Drove my E55 with Dunlop WinterSports M3 all winter on my stock rims and the car drove like a AWD car. It reminded me of my Audi A4 Quattro.

WOW.... you managed to get on 16" over our front calipers!!!
Can you share which wheel you got to do that because I've been trying to get that to happen with NO luck!

My mistake I downsized to 17" for the winter, I was on 18" in the summer. I do not believe there is any 16" that will clear the calipers....

I have 225/45-17 Blizzak LM-22's on my stock wheels and they make a world of difference from any performance summer tire. Overall, they made driving in the snow possible but I wouldn't say it was great even in W mode. My thinking was as long as the tires would give me enough traction to get me home, I'd be happy but I wouldn't necessarily take my C32 out for a drive in the snow. If you have room in NY and the budget for a winter beater, thats the way to go.

I drove my C32 in snow and ice with friction winter tyres, it works, but nothing more than that. I only used it when the roads had been cleared of snow and the remains was melting. If there is a lot of snow, you might or will get stuck, but you drive on roads with just a thin layer of snow, it works just like any other rwd car. ESP works very well.

For example, almost 50% of the taxis around here are new or old E-klass, and usually there is plenty of snow around the suburbs of stockholm, and I guess if there was a problem driving mercedes in snow, the taxi companys wouldnt have a fleet with 50% or more of them...

But most cars still chose "real" winter tires...

I have these in 225/40 R18 as winter tyres on my RS4, and yes, ppl think you are a retard driving with wide, low profile tires on 18"s
But they work great.
