Are you sure the front is ET30??? It should be ET37.
I believe he is correct Harris. The C55 has a CLK front end which explains the ET. You might be thinking about a C32 front end which is the same as the std W203.

Yes, I am sure. I just checked, since I took them off for the Winter. Winter wheels are spec'd to be ET37 all four corners - what I have on now with 17". You are thinking of C32 front.Originally Posted by Harris

Ummm......since you have the wheel and you checked in person, you must be right.
But I couldnt find a ET30 front wheel in any of my AMG catalog except for the W211.
Would you mind telling me the part number of your front wheel?

They used the ET30 to widen the track. It is definitely, schmefinitely et30. This wheel is not the same wheel as the C32 rim. It is a different style with a vermiculite core in the spokes to save some of the weight deficits of gravity casting.

Norm is definitely correct. I went round and round with my dealer trying to figure out what happened to my C55's wheels, and it turned out they or the wheel shop swapped them for CLK55 wheels when chroming them. They now put on the correct C55 wheels, which are ET30 Front and ET34 Rear. Only way to tell the difference w/o looking at the p/n is the correct C55 wheel has a slight front lip past the big radius curve. Definitely makes the car handle better. Dealer parts lists were of no help, we had to get the correct p/n's off of a new C55, and they match Norms numbers.

Would you possibly know where I could get the SL rim in that gunmetal color? and if I can get custom sizes in them as well? How big can I go front and rear width wise. I want to keep stock sizes but the want the ride to still be on 18's and respond better with a wider profile. . .
I heard 235/40/18 F and 255/35/18 R is the MAX I can go...IS this true????
Thanks!

Well, I can get you the gunmetal SL65 wheels. But that's 19". They don't come in 18" in that exact wheel. The largest width I would say to go without having trouble is 8.5" front and 9.5" rear. A few people fit a 10.0 in the rear, and need to have their fender rolled. It also serves no purpose since you cannot fit a larger tire then you can on the 9.5".Originally Posted by AMG PWR

The sizes 235/40/18 and 255/35/18 are what I would say the largest you can go on the stock wheels. With a 9.0 or 9.5" rear wheel, you can fit a 265. But no, you cannot go any bigger then a 235 in the front and 265 in the rear because you will run into excessive rubbing issues.

Your telling me the 265 will rub? and 255 would be the better way to go...since no rubbing? I'm thinking about putting a drag tire on the backs but need to get the rims setup first. I also heard the AMG SL65 19's are crazy heavy, what do they weigh in at? PM me on details regarding pricing for the SL rims...I dont really want heavy rims, especially 19's...

255's fit on the rear no problem, even on stock wheels. I just changed tires to 235 & 265 on my stock C55 wheels, and that is definitely the max. Rear has rubbed very lightly once on a big dip, but not enought to worry about. These sizes are pushing what most tire makers reccomend on these wheels, but they will work.Originally Posted by BlackC230Coupe
