What kind of bulbs do i need ?

Can someone recommend me a brand of bulbs for my HID? I want something BLUE or even Purple. I just bought a 2005 C. Do i need a 7500k or a 8000k bulb to get my HID's Blue? Sorry for a noobie question. Thanks in advance

These are the ones I use. 6800K. Anything higher and you loose definition of road surface and objects in your path at night.

If you have stock Xenons.

D2S bulbs would be the ones to get.

I have a C55...I swapped my OEM bulbs to some cheap D2S bulb off ebay 8000K...it was like 100-120 bucks a pair.

People say these are asian garbage, but they worked fine and still works good up till now....they are good I would say...the color is pretty blueish(again...they are only 1xx dollars a pair!)

NORTH 44 C55, what is the color output of your Piaa bulbs? Is it blue or purple? Would you say the light output/visibility is better compared to your stock bulbs?

Output is 6800K and does emit a slight purplish hue. Visibility is better than stock. Better definition and much easier on your eyes on a long night drive. I also upraded the fogs to a PIAA H7 extreme white and the add a nice balance to the low beam......

Ive also seen 10,000k bulbs and 12,000k bulbs. Do you think the OEM HID can power those bulbs or 8000k is enough?

Im thinking about converting my fogs to HID but they arnt cheap. What do you think about this product on ebay. Its not HID. It claims to BOOST the STOCK H7 bulbs. If i get this with the piaa extreme, will it be brighter? Thanks

FYI - anything lamp above 5500k produces less visible light and actually decreases your vision at night. As far as the "OEM HID being able to power those lamps" one thing has nothing to do with the other. The lamp wattage is what it is . The Kelvin temperature rating of the lamp has to due ith the spectrum wavelength it operates within and the color it produces - daylight is around 8000k anything after that begins to produce a "purple" color and is potentially producing harmful UV. Unless the manufacturer just tints the glass purple for an effect - which limits your ability to see at night.
