05' C55 200 Mph?!?!?!??!

Hi folks, I've been lurking the boards for awhile but haven't posted much. I wanted to ask if anyone here has evidence (magazine, video, website) of what the top speed of a 05+ C55 is without the speed limiter. I need proof please, thank you in advance.

I know, I dont think merc. does either if you buy one that actually goes over 250kph and ask them to remove the limit

...

from what i recall reading >200mph is attainable only by changing the rear diff gearing.

the c32/c55 have phenomenal CDs of 0.27 (lowest i've seen on production cars). that's the ticket (pun intended) for high terminal velocities.

there is video on this site of someone redlining a c32 somethink like 170+.

the c55 had a higher redline and should be faster as the gearing is the same.

i've done 155 the car accelerates nicely up to the limiter.

Dear me dear me...here in HK, I had to risk my life to do 250km/h . The max. speed I reached it was only 208 km/h , even I was on No.3 highway.
If the speedmeter reads 330 km/h , the car should be able to reach 300km/h?

No current stock C-Class will come close to 200mph, the power required is proportional to V^3. ie to go 10% faster you need atleast 33% more power.

Everyone should note that there is a difference between indicated speed and actual speed.

..

reggid....u're correct. i was thinking of the e55.

however i think the c32/55 will pull a substantial V over current delimited max. ie it's not drag limited in current form.

Thanks for the response guys but I was just looking for some sort of evidence showing the top speed of a C55 with limiter removed.
