I was pretty disappointed to know that Mercedes benz doesnt offer free maintainence service A and B anymore.

Any thoughts on this?

 

Yeap!!! It really sucks! I just spent $105 for my first oil change.

Mine is still covered. I think BMW is now covering their Service. Might have to upgrade to a M5 soon..

yep! they started no longer offering free maintenance for 05' models and on.... when I went to get my service A done, the cashier forgot to charge me....I was aware/planned to pay, but I wasn't gonna question her when she said, "there is no charge" so I just took off so my advisor called me later that day to inform me that they forgot to charge me an error, so I offered to come back to pay, and he said not to worry about it, it's on him this time and for me to take care of him on the survey they send out...

 

it sucks!!! all my previous cars have free service except for o5 c55. oh well, i still love the car and it's definately worth it!!!

 

if its nothing more than an oil change, do it yourself. Pretty simple and can be quite fun

Depending on the dealer around Boston (which do you go to?) it can run from $100-$150.

There's a great independent MB dealer I use in Wayland. Hatch & Sons. Great people, they service MB's, Ferrari's and Porsche's but primarily MB and they know their stuff. Family owned business, they all work there and have had Benz's for a long time. Their techs are trained from MB and have worked in dealerships before. Give them a call to see what they charge for an oil change on your AMG... www.hatchandsons.com

 

Called the service guy at flagship motor cars..

Said he'll do an oil change for 90 bucks..i agreed.

About the transmission problem thing..they havent found out yet...the computer isnt showing anything wrong...they need to check it more..

I got mine replaced and so as some of my buddies. You must drive it hard. Make sure to warm up the car a little bit since it's still cold in Boston.
Mine happened because coolant got into the transmission, which messed up the whole system.
Have them check it out, if that's the case you should have some hard shifting even in S or C mode.
Design problem I think.. Who knows. My car runs perfect now.
By the way the charcoal filter I was talking about is the cover above the battery. You are missing it so go get it from the dealer. It's funny that it is missing.

I think I talked to you or another asian dude with C55. He was with a girl with the V8 vadge on the fender and I told him it is tilted. I was with 3 other girls in my car. Was that you Derrick?

 

derrick has vanity plates on his. I have seen plenty of black C55s around.

 

i also noticed no filter, i thought maybe u took it out for the picture?

 

so far what I know is about 3. There could be a bit more but Not plenty I think~

My car has a battery cover... I don't see a filter there? Please elaborate.

 

The filter and the battery cover are one unit. If you remove it and turn it over you will see the filter.

BMW is still providing full maintenance. Mercedes quietly dropped theirs. Too bad.
