This is a whole new level of boredom. The 7-series, which the interior attempts to emulate, is so much more well executed. The exterior is just, well, boring, better than the current S class (what's up with those headlights), but boring nonetheless.

as a Kid, I used to envy my friends dad's who got the MB and BMW cars cause they had their shifter in the proper place... and our Ford LTD had that bs wheel shifter! Now it's reversed!

And if I didn't know better, I'd think they lifted this right from the 7 series. I think that BMW may have a plagiarism law suit.

I guess I'll be driving me E class a lot longer that I originally bargained for.

hmmmmm... that W12 makes not power... and

well i always loved 5k lb. sled Audi's that have massive understeer. the new S is a bit BMW like on the inside but i bet it will make the audi look like a lumber wagon or a crap hauler.

I want to see the new S in AMG form. I think some big wheels would look nice under the flared fenders.

I dunno. I currently have a 2005 A6 3.2 for a work car. I've never noticed any understeer, and it feels more sure footed than my C32 when pushed.

I agree, though. I'd never consider an S430 anyways, it's just not "me." I will reserve my judgements on this car until I see the AMG version in person.

So far I am disappointed in their i-Drive like system which doesn't appear to have any buttons for auxillary functions like radio and climate control which would force the user to interact with the computer for everything.

I still can't believe how similar to the BMW it is, makes me embarrassed for MB.

Hey naadp... I'm at 63rd Ave and Jomax, not far from you.

My wife is driving an 04' 745Li and the interior of the new S could pass as a mild facelift if you swapped out the steering wheel. That is nearly unbelievable.

I will stand up and take the beating.

I remember and can post person after person screaming "CLS looks like a taurus...what is MB thinking?!"

Now same people "CLS is amazing...what a car"

I can say from spy image after spy image, that I am not a big fan of the fender flares...however I have seen some other spy shots that do not have the flares so dramatic.

We'll see in 2 months in Franfurt.

reminded me most of the caddy CTS...

In regards to shifters in the proper place, can you say "three on the tree"?

The new facelifted 7 is a lot better, it now looks like a BMW.. The new S really went down the drain

The CLS rear and interior completely feels like a Taurus. The only part of the car that looks nice is the front half~!
even then, it looks too much like the Infiniti M45 frontend too.

I like the new look of the S actually, but that interior is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to much like the 7 series.

I like the A8, but it still has that blend look to me.

I'm at Litchfield and Cactus, so it's about 10 miles. I tried to buy a lot on 83rd and Happy Valley (I probably would have been able to see your house from there), but got outbid hardcore. Repeatedly.

Anyways, I always liked the 7-series interior, actually. However, the lack of auxillary controls forcing you to interact with the poorly designed computer interface makes the 7 a car I would never want to own. It looks like MB copied this concept, I just hope the interface is better. It is also somewhat embarassing that they can't come up with their own interior design.

MB should realize that if BMW was having a 20% off sale on engineers, there was probably a reason for it... :p

That was an official shot, no photoshop there. It's sad, S and CL classes are going to ****, and someone was raggin' on me about how porsche is struggling? lol More I look at the S, the more it looks like a Camry now hahaha

It's amazing how MB took the worst of the stark 7 Series interior and mad it their own...of all things!

They must have stolen design people from BMW thinking that this look would be in their best interest......either that or the blueprints!!

Pipe down people, lets not forget this is the S. Mercedes flagship model, lets wait and see how it looks when its a few feet in front of you. As time goes on the evolution of the cars we love is inevitable, but I don't think the new S will let us down. Mercedes always shines when it comes to their luxury sedan. I myself think it looks pretty decent, it needs to grow on me much like many of the new models that have popped up over the last few years. All I am saying is lets see it before we knock it.
