C32's weakness
Hello Everyone,
My current car is a 500+hp 6 Speed Supra. It is one of the finest car ever built, monster horsepower and undefeated braking from 70-0(until the GT2 came out). It too has weakness such as loud tranny, major traction problem (could be good to some), valve stem seals, and many other flaws.
I'm doing some research and the C32 seems very attractive to me. But like every car, they have their own weakness. What are they?

but its a fun car for sure. I dont see a reason for crazy motor mods for the car is very quick once you make it turn. this from a road racer. if you are interested in drag racing the C32 will work well. C55 kleemann would be faster but a ton more money. A nice C32 2003 is now in the low to mid 30's and that is hard to beat!

I would buy one in a heart-beat.
Just add a full suspension upgrade (coilovers, sway bars, and some good racing wheels/tires). I love the C32 !

I'll let you know. I sold my 667 rwhp supra about 6 months ago. (The green one from the last to Sport Compact Car Ultimate Street Car Challenges) I have since bought another car for track duty, and My 03 C32 for daily use gets here from TX on Sunday. I honestly expect them to be pretty simular without suspension mods. Kinda porky, and too big and heavy to be real tight track monsters. We'll see how it responds to mods, but this one will not end up a dedicated track car like my other one is becoming.
oh - and why do you say 500+ rwhp? Hasn't it been dyno'd? If not, how do you know? I don't really think a 500 rwhp supra is truely a bike hunter...maybe if they don't know how to ride the bike...

I remember your Supra. I dynoed 411rwhp @ BPU, now with a T61 and 21 psi there should be no reason for the car not to break 500hp. I've lined up with a few friends with 600cc bikes and I'm neck to neck with them, but that was at 411rwhp.

Cars and boats!
C32s weaknesses....
1. car is heavy and could use more torque
2. Humid weather = heat soak (I know is common on force induced cars but its a big issue on the C32)
3. modifications are expensive and very limited
The most effective mod on these cars so far is ECU and Pulley combo ....alone could put your stock 280rwhp-300rwhp up to 320rwhp-340rwhp!!!

Auto trans: 5speed only, and it doesn't shift as lower gear as possible when kicked down.
feeling: It doesn't feel like a 354hp-car at all, where's the tq. gone?
look: general W203 look. No wider fender like m3
handling: too easy to drive, no fun.

funny thing about life, no matter how rich you are, someone will always have more money, no matter how strong, someone will be stronger...
just gotta be happy with what you got and a bit of humility never hurt anyone.
i believe the last dyno was 1050hp... not mine, i wouldnt know what to do with this batmobile looking car. a good buddys car. when people talk this and that about their cars, he never seems to say anything, just has a grin when they talk about "ill take you down anytime any place."
regarding youre original topic, i dont own a c32, but biggest weakness i would think is that its not available in a manual, but then again, i also lean to the belief thats part of its character. its a benz. not a rice rocket. drives like a benz looks like a benz, yet all you will see is the back side of it.

Damn, modding the benz is pretty pricey. I think you guys are missing my point. I'm over the high horsepower phase. If I wanted a high horsepower car, I would turn the supra into a 1000rwhp car. I'm looking for flaws such as recalls or defects.

I drive a C55 with a few upgrades: S/C & NOS system to mention a few...
I think the C32 is easier to hook up. Since it already come with an S/C all you new is a quick visit to the shop for some ECU & Pulley...
On the C55 you need an S/C and that is not cheap. $$$$
So it's all in your budget!

You guys really want to line up? Why don't we bring out the BIG boys? Why must you guys pick on a slightly modded supra as mine? 800rwhp+ supra will walk on your *** all day. Benz owners are more ****y than I thought. C55 SC w/nitrous is not the ****.
How about this, I'll build my supra into a 1000rwhp beast and let's line up for some $$$?
