C32 to C55 and Still happy?
Hey everyone,
been doing some thinking as of late to change my c32 in for a c55, although it is the most unoriginal thing I can do its the only car that can compare with the c32 other then the m3 and the s4. Am I mistaken? M3 is great but i already have back problems and I have never been too fond of audis. So for those who have gone from c32 to c55 let me know your feelings.
Regrets and rewards from making the switch.

Hopefully, I will be able to answer your question if I can find a black C55

Hope I don't find the same black c55. I am really pissed off about the whole c230 thing too. I mean I understand why they are doing it ($) but at the same time doesn't mean I have to like it.

You know after getting *** raped on the depreciation of our c32s which i did buy new I don't think i will buy a new car unless I have to. I mean some cars you gotta get new but I would keep the c55 for a year or two max so I don't need a brand new one. I am just hanging on until the new cl comes out and waiting to decide which new car to get then. There are a lot of hot cars out right now but I think if I just hold on for another year I can see the new line ups

I went from a C32 to a C55. My observations:
1. The C55 sounds totally different, no throaty sounds from the engine, just deep exhaust sounds (which sound great);
2. The car turns in better, due to lower profile tires on the 18 inch wheels rather than 17; I drove it briefly on the track at Waterford with 18" Hoosier tires and it looks like it will be a blast when I get the chance to get to a track for two or three days.
3. The C55 seems more refined, engine is smoother and quiter, and part of this may be the interior changes as mine has black birdseye maple instead of metal trim;
4. Seats are about the same, maybe a little more side bolster on the seat backs;
5. The manual mode transmission gives much more control on the track and for autocross, but takes time to get used to.
6. Mine has the CLK grill which I prefer over the stock C55 grill.
7. Radio (harmon kardon) seems better, able to get more bass;
8. Due to the 18 inch wheels, it is somewhat harsher on the road, but not bad, altho I find myself looking out for potholes to avoid.
All in all, I'm glad I bought the C55. I agree with your thoughts as to buying a new one. I was able to find one with very low mileage and saved over $10,000.

Just wanted to add that the heatsoak issues don't apply to the C55. Hot & Humid days really slowed down the C32... It's also nice to have a decent sized Tach compared with the useless one in the C32. The CLK front end, 18 inch wheels, and quad tip exhausts magically transform the car..

Yesterday , first time I got very close to a balck C32 on the highway, at one glance of C32's outlook , there is really no major differences that would make a C55 be a different car - except I gave it a big respect because it is black, clean and stand up as my big brother. Or are we just been in this forum too long and care about details which other people don't seem to care about. " a C is still a C " "a E is still a E" you know what I mean...
( anyhow, we never did race a little as I thought he was sort of waiting to see if I made the first move ; or he was just enjoyed to be starring at my C55 for obvious reason that we don't have more than 20 here in HK )
A black C32 is cool , a black C55 is VERY COOL.
Believe me, having driven a E320 W210 for three years shifting to a C - C55 which is my first supercar, not one single doubt, sports car of this size is the 'right size' for life-time; unless you need to take on 3 children all the time. Just guess carrying a 2 tons body's E55 is indeed 'fast' but not 'quick' as the C55. Going for a E55 will be if space and luxury status are desirable.

offered me for my fully loaded 02 C32 But they did try to get me to get the new 06 C55 that someone had ordered with a price tag of 61k plus I might just keep my car and purchase a horse and buggy or
just break out my skate board :p :p
