Farewell to my C55, it was great while it lasted
Well, i had to say goodbye to my baby yesterday. About a month ago i drove my car through a big puddle (it was pouring rain bigtime in Miami), everything was going good until the ******* in front of me decided to stop. Needless to say my car died right there on the spot. Yesterday the insurance adjuster called me to tel me it was a total loss! ($42K in engine repair, $5k in electronics repair)
I'm waiting for them to call me today so they can give me my check. I'm not going to get another C, if anything i would have gotten an E55, but i've decided to get an SUV, so i'm debating between a G500 or a Range Rover Sport.
RIP C55

$42K for a normally aspirated engine. I don't care if was assembled by the Pope, where does MB get off charging that kind of money for a motor. I would buy the car from the insurance company for 100 bucks and drop in an LS1 with a blower.

man, sorry to hear about your story.
Personally speaking, I would go with a BMW X5 or Range Rover. These are the 2 favorite ones of mine. With the limited budget, I'm saving to get a X5 (hoping that it will come true about my second year in college-- well, of course that it won't be brand new though)

I Have to second the above comment... G500 is pretty solid and the G55K... defies the laws of physics, no other way to say it

sorry to hear about this
I would take a short break from thinking a serious investment on supercar
Wish you get recovered from the shock soon
If you are still tempted
Get the nice gentleman S500 coming soon

Sorry to hear the bad news , that sucks.I can't believe the engine repair is 42k - absolutely no way - someone botched this estimate big time.I wish you luck in your new vehicle search.
