Connect My IPDD

Good afternoon Gentlemen...Ladies.

Sorry to be such a **** head but may I ask if i can EASILY Connect an Ipod to the command console or am i barking up the wrong tree ?

Yes you can connect quite easily if the car was fitted with Comand from the dealer. Any "ipod integration" from MB will not work with pre-2005 cars, so that topic is irrelevant to you. What you need to do is find the little auxilllary input located in your glove box, get a cord that has headphone size (can't remember if that's 1/8 or not) male ends on both sides, run that from your glove box to your ipod, and switch the Comand to AUX mode. I don't have Comand in my car, so I'm not exactly sure how that is done, but I bet someone here can give you a quick answer if they're in the mood to help. Good luck!

Thanks People...ill check out that connection in my glove box although i have a cdchanger in there....mmmmmmm !

Also another thickie question for you experts....

Can i play a DVD video in the car by ejecting the satnav cd and inserting a DVD ?

If not , what the hell is the video button for on the command console ???

There is an iPod integration kit now available here in the US that allows you to control the iPod from the steering wheel. In the US, the NAV DVD will not play a movie DVD.

I have installed the IPOD integration set from MB. I hoped that the information was available at the screen. But it is NOT, only in the small display behind the wheel. I have more then 12000 songs in my IPOD amd you need to make very good playlists, otherwise you have droven 1000 mileswhen you start with artist A and finishing Z.

But anyway I love it.
