Question Is the C55 engine the same as the E55 (minus the SC)?

This is probably a dumb question but is the C55 engine the same as the E55? In other words, would a E55 supercharger fit a C55 engine?

Most likely it is the same block but probably not much more. Probably different headers and such. But I am just talking out of my a$$. I am sure someone more knowledgeable will "learn" us.

it's not the same motor minus supercharger. the e55's internals are different, among other things, as the compression ratio is lower.

My ex-cars: 03 E55,04 C32, 05 C55 ,03 E320
on the website it says the E55 is reinforced steel block...

forced induction engines need to be stronger...

I thought SL55 , E55 , C/CLK/SLK55 are all using the same 5439cc engine with different arrangement. At least SL55 500hp and E55 476hp should be the same engine.? Just curious

Currently, C, CLK, SLK, ML 55 N/A motors are the same. E, CLS, SL, CL, S 55 Kompressor motors are the same. MB claims that installation difference between the cars cause the slight variation in power ratings like the SL and the E.

5.5L They are all M113 motors just that the S/C motor has beefier rods, different pistons, and stronger crank, with the M113 blck possibly being reinforced.

They may all be M113 class engines but bolting the SC from a K motor on an N/A engine without other modifications to the internals and block will likely result in one expensive grenade!

You'll be surprised how much power the N/A internals are able to withstand with a KLEMMAN or RENNTECH kit!

Here's your N/A 5.5L example with a Kleeman charger.https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c55-amg-w203/116837-kleemann-55k-s7-update-pictures-dyno.html No grenade here!
