Instead of selling the C32; sold the E500 for an SRT-4.

Some may say it is nutty, but dressing the SRT-4 down to look like a regular Neon and pulling 12s in a daily driver street car should humble many a stoplight derby challenger.

Sorry. Not a chance in hell I trade a E500 for a neon. Even if the thing could do wheelies...OK...maybe if it could do wheelies....MAYBE!
Just not my thing. Congrats on the car and enjoy it....

Agreed that it is on the surface. I have this aversion to 4000 lb vehicles. The C32 works perfectly for a 13 second family sedan that fits the power/weight criteria. Just going fast and furious for awhile until the E90 M3 comes out.

Well, at least the '04s came with a Quaife LSD stock. It is going to be quite a challenge to overcome the inherent engineering issues. Sounds like fun.

Just a question, why not an EVO to have some handling too?

In stock form I would be taunted. I mean if you had a stock looking Neon and wanted to race at a light or something I would probalby be excited. That would be embarising.

I assume you HAD to get rid of one benz right?? I just don't see an RTneon as a motivator to send an E500 on it's way.

Funny, I had a deal going on for MSRP less $1000 customer cash back with Mitsubishi doing 0.0% financing for the length of the warranty (60 months). I had Shiv on the line to do Vishnu Stage 0 and I remembered how much respect the Evo garnishes and the fact that the Evo X comes out next year. My mission is to build the ultimate sleeper as yet another interim vehicle until I figure out if the next vehicle will be an E90 M3, RS4, or W204 C55. It appears 2007 will be a banner year for the import industry. I despise land yaughts. That is why I only had an E55 for a few months and an '01 S8 for less than 6 months. The E500 was supposed to be a family sedan without the juice, but the C32 is so much more fun to drive getting the same goal accomplished. With that, I now have a beater that'll do 12 second quarters as a daily driver. It'll be fun for awhile. I'll post pics when project dress down is complete. I'm doing heavy detailing like spraying the brake calipers back to black from red. Just ordered 4 Bridgestone SO2As as the ground up transformation begins.

Good luck with that man.. I've seen a video on the net somewhere of a Mopar Stage III completely **** up running on the drag. Don't know exactly what but oil was leaking out of the exhaust pipes along with clouds of smoke.. Don't want see this to happen to you. I would have waited for the EVO X if you wanted a car like that.

Happens to the best of cars. Out of the 43 I've owned in my lifetime the only ones to strand me were my 2 C32s and a '78 International Harvester Scout II. The SRT-4s have a pretty good track record for reliability in comparison. Fundamentals of a tried and true iron block capable of holding 500 HP make me sleep easy knowing I'm only running 355 HP.

Anyway, the wing and trunk badge have been removed. Time to go hunting.

As a car aficionado, all vehicles have their strong points and weak points. As women are to sex, cars are to speed. There are many different flavors to enjoy, but no such thing as bad sex or speed if you get where you want to go.

It is much more fun to blow someones doors if in a vehicle that epitomizes everything car snobs hate. There is nothing inconceivably worst than being beaten by a neon. I remember when I got smoked in my 2001 3.4L Carrera Cab by a sleeperized Civic. It left a profound effect on my psyche. My appreciation of cars has expanded. I am going to share that paradigm with as many as possible.

Being completely honest, the E500 wasn't near worth the money. The C32 is worth every penny even with the stranding issues. This 355 HP SRT-4 is a lot of fun and I will enjoy it to the fullest for it is only a temporary phase.
