Good bye

Well, it's been fun hanging around for almost 2 years or so. I have sold my car today. Although I haven't posted much, I have enjoyed reading your comments. I have picked up a few good tips on the way as well. Reason for selling was firstly very poor service from my local dealership, and secondly the overall quality of the car. It has been to the dealership about 8 times for various problems. I will be going back to VW and specifically the GTI. This will be my 7th VW, and my previous 6 didn't give me any hassles. The wife is driving the 2.0 FSI atm. I will still pop in from time to time, to see how the AMG scene is going. Cheers.

Hmmm from a C32 to a Golf 5 GTi. While I understand your move, you will miss the power

Hoop alles loop verder goed vir jou

Yep, I will miss the power, but with a few mods, chip, exhaust and aqaumist the power goes from 147kw to about 195kw. Not too bad for about R16k.

Ahh going to see my good friend Will from Revolution Roadsport I gather. I know him well. He will make the Gti fly. Aquamist is a must, especially with the CR the Gti has.

Good luck and please come back.
To deal with quality frustrations of W203, I am taking a slightly different approach...I am dropping my check to the local dealer to reserve a 2006 Feb GTI (my wife will be using it) . So by Feb., I will run my C55 and GTI in pair and will be more easy to decide whether I can still have fun of some speeds with the GTI and sell the C55 when it becomes 18 months old. :p

Don't be too surprised if you drive the GTI more often.

bye...I'm surprised you would say the VW would give you less trouble.

our 2000 Beetle 1.8T has given us nothing but trouble. 1. spoiler speed sensor no longer works when hitting 90mph. You have to press that stupid button they put under the dash to raise it manually. 2. who knows how long the airbag warning has been on. don't feel like fixing it because it's out of warranty. 3. battery dies after 4 days if the car is not driven. This has been checked by dealer when the car had warranty and they never did fix it. 4. broken armrest latch 5. broken fuel door latch. 6. headlight dims when I touch some window switches. 7. broken window switch.
