Of course, those were properly modified, incorporating well-engineered parts and hardware, prior to receiving their ECU tuning.

There was an older thread about how Jesse "borrowed" the software from his employer at the time, Powerchip, and started doing business on his own.....

hum....so he "borrowed" software but how does this apply to some of the stuff we are talking about here? HPS is a some what of a new company and from what I read he left Powerchip some time ago (4 years ago).

So from my take on all of this "borrowed" software is that Jesse doesn't produce any software and he only took what powerchip had and is reselling it???

I'm not understanding this quite fully (if you could enlighten us, since it seems you know more than anyone)...

HPS does their own tuning? Wait.. no...they don't..

When did HPS come out? Like 4-5 years ago? And apparently this rays guy says he left P-chip around the same time... well okay, so HPS is the newbie company here with questionable hardware...

But what I don't get, is how does this explain that he (Jesse) is able to extract any power from a custom kit HPS Kit (GenII) when that thing alone barely went into market - isn't it like a year or a year and a half old?

So how does "borrowed Powerchip software" apply to custom tuning - as it looks like Jesse was able to extract 80HP from this car in its first go-around.

Quote: So do you have something to share? Did you know that he is gettin alot of play here through JLEVI for successfully tuning several C class cars including FrankW's C32 that made 351rwph and another C230 that made 228rwhp?
I personally do not buy those power figures. That dyno plot looked horrible and I really doubt a car with pulleys and some software makes that kind of power. Maybe with the finger of god pushing it along the dyno it could.

As for the C230 I dont think a C230 will make that power without some serious other upgrades. Vadim knows quite a bit about tuning the M271 motor and I have real issues believing a 228rwhp figure on that car. Even less likely than Franks car.

Tell you what wise guy! I'll give you a 5-second head start and I'll still whip your *** in the quarter mile.

I guess you don't believe this dyno chart either. This was the result of 1/2 hr of tuning on my car days after posting only 310rwhp at HOP back in Jan 05. With a 1.22 drivetrain loss factor this car went from 378bhp to 472bhp. Not all that shabby for a toaster oven with no cooling upgrades at the time.
Can't wait to see what it shows when I get my car back this Saturday with tuning AND my cooling upgrades. I just called him and he is pulling up to the dyno this very second....

1/2 hour is exactly what it takes to load "borrowed" Kleemann program into your DME.

Any kind of tuning takes numerous, numerous hours.
On the street and on the dyno.

Trust me my friend that is what I used to do for a living.

Sadly I even tought Jesse how to do a thing or two to make power.

Let's not get too hasty now fellas. Let's just wait for the results.

So now he borrowed Powerchip and Kleemann programs?

I have to admit I find this VERY hard to believe. What kind of PROOF do you have of what you are saying?

Jesse used to work for Powerchip.

He left Powerchip to open his own company, but he "forgot" to return the laptop that had files and tuning software.

You can call and talk to Powerchip and even Jesse will admit that.

There were several theads discussing this matter, going back to 2004, but they are gone now since server upgrade.

So I am guessing you are saying that Jesse must have worked for Kleemann and taken their computer as well???

No, Powerchip did some tuning on Kleemann cars, before Kleemann started to offer their own software.
