I was checking ebay for a nice C55. I found this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...spagenameZWDVW
The same car is also listed on autotrader for little under 43k. Fully loaded. Navigation, Light pack, prem pack. 25k miles on it.
Do you think I should be suspicous? or this is a real steal?

I also noticed the high milage in less than a year. But still its at least couple thousand less than the other lowest on autotrader. But one more thing I have noticed, Its been on ebay for 2 days(5 more to go), the highest bid is 35k. and I have seen this car on autotrader for sometime. No buyer. I guess the high miles scares ppl.

I say who cares how many miles it has on it! Its still under factory warranty. If you are a normal driver you would have probably 2 years before the factory warranty runs out. If you were looking for a C55 and don't mind blue exterior, looks like a great deal to me. This car was probably sold in 04 so 25k miles doesn't see all that bad to me.. my two cents..

It's actually diamond black metallic. I think it's the hottest looking color for the C55 (besides granite gray, of course....). In sunlight it is a very dark blue and at night it's black. If you were looking for a C55 and don't mind blue exterior,
I wouldn't be to worried about the dealership, I think they run a legit operation. They sell a number of nice cars over the internet. However, I would still make sure you have all your ducks in a row before you pull the trigger.... Good luck on the purchase.
that's a good price, but the mileage is way high. makes you wonder what did the previous do.

I'd think twice. Not bc of the mileage, but the color and the interior trims.
I'm not too crazy abt the blue (have seen it in person), and I like the brushed metal trims better than wood. I'd rather pay 5K more to get the exterior and interior preferences that I like. But hey, that's just me. Of course you could change the trims with CF pretty easy, and some ppl like blue cars.
Oops it's Diamond black.. not capri blue. Never mind then.. I'd take it.
Interior trims are easy to change.

The "Miles" are high. There was a fully loaded C55 at our local dealership that
was going for 48K with only 6K miles

I'm scare to buy any car from Texas without seeing it and driving it first. Don't know if it's true or not, but I've heard it more than once that dealers in Texas recondition salvage, flooded, totaled, etc....cars from different states (Hurricane Katrina states) and list them as a normal used-car but with much lower prices than most of its competitors. Another reason was that that's why you see so many of them on ebay.
Anyways, 25K in one year is too high. The average miles per year is 15K. Mine hits one year exactly in 4 days and it only have 11K, and I drive it everyday too.

I actually drove this car about a month ago. At the time, it was being sold by a tiny Ford dealer in a small town about 50 miles outside of Houston. The car had North Carolina plates on it and had apparently been traded in at the Ford dealership. I saw the car in raw form. It hadn't been cleaned up at all. All the driver's info was still in the car and the story seemed to check out.
As for the condition, the car really wasn't in as bad a shape as I was expecting. Paint condition was hard to tell because it was dirty, but I didn't see many scratches or swirls. None of the rims were rashed. The leather looked really good and the inside was dirty, but not that bad considering I don't think the car had been touched by a detailer. The car had three different brands of tire (new in the rear with mismatched fronts). Looks like it had also been taken up some steep driveways with scratches under the front bumper. One fog was cracked. Also, at the time, the SRS light had been thrown. I read on here that this could just be a faulty sensor but who knows.
The car drove fine. Pulled a little, probably because the tires were so bad. Sure, it's got a ton of miles, but you can't really touch a C55 at that price unless it has some miles. I went out to look at it thinking I might make some ridiculous offer to the guy (they truly had no idea what kind of car this was … probably the reason it ended up at Expo), but in the end, the car just had too many things that made it suspect. Probably could have gotten a smoking deal. I'm not sure if it really is too good to be true, but just know that the car hasn't exactly been babied. I'd be interested in seeing the car now to see what all they tried to clean up or cover up. Maybe some of this inside info will help a prospective purchaser.

Yup, sounds suspicious. But I still would try to give benefit of the doubt and take the car to a reputable local MB dealer, have them check it and ask for a written report.
And logically, MB would check the car thoroughly since otherwise the problems would come back to them since the car is still under warranty.
It might not as bad as it sounds.
